Winnie G Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 I have read this before, and this was not the first time the press out side of the US has reported these “God talks to me” remarks. CNN and other US news programs never cover reports such as this. After all the office of president is always deemed in high regard this would be embarrassing to the American people. To have a president that feels he is on a Christen right mission how would the non- Christen Americans feel?Nabil Shaath says: "President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …" And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'" How many more years is Bush in?Just remember as my Jewish Uncle would say: “The last time we listened to a Bush we travel in a wilderness for forty years” Quote

Outshined Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Well, having served twice in Iraq, I'd say God didn't lead him astray... Quote
Winnie G Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 Serving your country and serving a Bush are two different mantras. My father and brother served and died for their country in the 60’s but that dose not mean the men who sent them there received intervention and wisdom for on high.I sorry but God takes care of those he is unhappy with. I have thought about this a lot since 911. Neither Bush nor those who fallow Allah are in charge. The axis Of Evil is firmly spun by those who act less then God and more like politicians Years ago I wrote a paper were my vision of God was described as an old man sitting on a cloud with both hands over his ears rocking back and forth with his own mantra saying “Lala I can’t hear you lala I cant hear you” over and over again. The Men and women who serve in politics are so far from God they can’t even feel their own soles from all the lying and conniving and back stabbing they dish out for the sake of “I know what’s best for our country”! What a Crock! For those of you that serve and those that love them at home Bush could never walk in your shoes. He should stand in your shadows and pray he could catch some of that the light of our God that shines on all men who try to do what is asked of them.Word came tonight that our daughter’s friend across the street from us has been wounded by a car bomb in Afghanistan and has lost most of his hearing. You remember Afghanistan don’t Yah Bush? Your launching pad to invade Iraq. Quote
Outshined Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 Both are actions that needed to be taken. As for Bush, I don't know him personally, and so cannot comment on his relationship with God. Quote
Outshined Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Shaath seems to have recanted his story, and the WH denies it. A senior White House official has denied that the US president, George Bush, said God ordered him to invade Afghanistan and Iraq.A spokesman for Mr Bush, Scott McClellan, said the claims, to be broadcast in a TV documentary later this month, were "absurd".In the BBC film, a former Palestinian foreign minister, Nabil Shaath, says that Mr Bush told a Palestinian delegation in 2003 that God spoke to him and said: "George, go and fight these terrorists in Afghanistan" and also "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq".During a White House press briefing, Mr McClellan said: "No, that's absurd. He's never made such comments."Asked if Mr Bush had ever mentioned that God had ordered him into Afghanistan and Iraq, Mr McClellan said: "No, and I've been in many meetings with him and never heard such a thing."http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,12271,1587122,00.html Quote
Winnie G Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 So we are suppose to believe “A senior White House official” It seems to be a he said she said to me. After all the most powerful government in the world is right all the time right? It’s not like the weapons of mass destruction was the truth beyond the shadow of a drought we were told. Think about it? Then why is this not the first time I have heard this? My family in the states told me how disturbed they were that there was a man in the white house that hears God. That was before this 2003 interview. President Bush flaps his gums when he is in the right company such as a comfortable audience like the hard line religious republican right. I have cousin who’s husband is a Pastor and ran for Congresses in Iowa wrote my family about the excitement they both had about a president who has the ear of God after statements Bush made to those running on the republican ticket. Let’s not bury our heads in all this. Politicians say what ever is needed to get out the Vote! I know you’re saying other men have heard the voice of god and the son. Bush is fare from a Prophet he is a Politician! Quote
