I know we have discuessed this topic before. However we go over things so we can gain a greater understanding each time.

When we say a mighty change of heart, how great must be the change? and if we have sinned this sin before, what must happen in order to truly repent from a sin that we keep choosing to offend god with?

The mighty change of heart is this: (Moroni 7:47-48)filled with His pure love after being completely repentant, submissive (Mosiah 3:19) and then guarding this condition (Mosiah 4:12)

There are several steps to repentence... recognition, remorse, relinquish, relate/reveal/confess, recompense, and then most importantly of all... request through prayer to be filled with the pure love of Christ.

The lack of the last step is why we continually fail and go back and commit the sins again... Consider the parable found in both Luke 11:24-26 and Matt 12:43-45 of the empty house that has been swept clean and garnished. This represents a repentant person. But when the house is left empty, not filled with charity, or the pure love of Christ, the house is re-inhabited by more evil spirits than before the

cleansing process was started. This would explain why so many times we fall back

into bad habits and struggle to over come weaknesses without success.

We know that becoming the peacemaker in Matt 5 comes from following the steps in the beatituteds... and that they lead to a repentant and submissive heart...

But we also know we must do things to guard this changed heart.... and those things are mentioned in Mosiah 4...

11 And again I say unto you as I have said before, that as ye have come to the knowledge of the glory of God, or if ye have known of his goodness and have tasted of his love, and have received a remission of your sins, which causeth such exceedingly great joy in your souls, even so I would that ye should remember, and always retain in remembrance, the greatness of God, and your own nothingness, and his goodness and long-suffering towards you, unworthy creatures, and humble yourselves even in the depths of humility, calling on the name of the Lord daily, and standing steadfastly in the faith of that which is to come, which was spoken by the mouth of the angel.

12 And behold, I say unto you that if ye do this ye shall always rejoice, and be filled with the love of God, and always retain a remission of your sins; and ye shall grow in the knowledge of the glory of him that created you, or in the knowledge of that which is just and true.

13 And ye will not have a mind to injure one another, but to live peaceably, and to render to every man according to that which is his due.

Scriptures to add:

Moroni 10:32-33,

32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.

33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.

D&C 121:45-46

45 Let thy bowels also be full of charity towards all men, and to the household of faith, and let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy confidence wax strong in the presence of God; and the doctrine of the priesthood shall distil upon thy soul as the dews from heaven.

46 The Holy Ghost shall be thy constant acompanion, and thy scepter an unchanging scepter of righteousness and truth; and thy dominion shall be an everlasting dominion, and without compulsory means it shall flow unto thee forever and ever.

Mosiah 3:19

19 For the natural bman is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, ksubmissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father.

It is important to note that there is an oposite to everything... the opposite of being born of Christ ... is the being born of Satan...

belief vs doubt and disbelief...

Consider what happens when one is born of Satan...

Jacob 4:

14 But behold, the Jews (or anyone) were a stiffnecked people; and they despised the words of plainness, and killed the prophets, and sought for things that they could not understand. Wherefore, because of their blindness, which blindness came by looking beyond the mark, they must needs fall; for God hath taken away his plainness from them, and delivered unto them many things which they cannot understand, because they desired it. And because they desired it God hath done it, that they may stumble.

Verse 17 And now, my beloved, how is it possible that these, after having rejected the sure foundation, can ever build upon it, that it may become the head of their corner?
