And here you can see my bamboo bike - the overall weight is 10.7 kg (23.6 lbs).

Bamboo is EXTREEMLY strong. Here is proof!

I have used bamboo to make antennas with it. Stuff is increadibly stiff. Even small 1/2 diameter very very hard to bend. I would say for its weight and diameter, its stronger then aluminum..which most bikes are made of.

If I weigh around 300-lbs, I be leery in driving the bike. ^_^

If you're around 300 lbs, you need to start by walking. Don't hop on the bike until you get down to around 290 lbs. and then you will be fine.;)
