bert10 Posted December 25, 2010 Report Posted December 25, 2010 Concerning the first question: Well the Lord did not removed Polygamy since He is the one that gave it. But He showed the vision what would happen if the church did not of themselves stop it.It had to come from His High Priest and it had to be voluntary on our part. And in the Millennium it shall be back on the earth since many more women shall be left on it than men. For it is written that few men will be left on it and so IN THAT DAYIsaiah 4:1 - AND in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproachPolygamy is only by commandment of GOD. For God initially only gave man one wife. However, because of the wickedness of men...God will act for our Greater good to compensate for our errors. And at times it may means Polygamy and concubines...such as what happened to Jacob. Satan tried to frustrate the plan of GOD by tricking Jacob into marrying Leah. But God is not frustrated as He allowed Jacob to Marry Rachel is beloved and intended from heaven. Joseph who was Righteous came from Rachel and was the one who saved His brethren in the end. In Rachel was the plan of salvation for Israel accomplished.bert10I don't quite understand whats been said in this text. If someone could clarify what it means that would be appreciated.First question, was polygamy outlawed because the president claimed to receive a vision from God?What sacrifices did early polygamists make?By what exception did Latter-day Saints believe that polygamy was fine early on?Thanks in advance.
