annewandering Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 I just found out that on Nook you can get free family histories! I have found a number of very good ones for my family already. I know they arent original sources but a lot of these are published near the turn of the century and have information not readily available to us now. An example is the Pelton family. We found the book and my husbands grandfather was in it. He was born in 1840 and died in Rexburg. With that information we found him in the book, barely, and it tied him all the way back to 1609 or so. Thats a whole lot of information to work with! The really nice thing is you can see the book on film or at libraries but this way you have them at hand. There are also civil records and histories of various kinds for free! Check it out! Quote
