Tough Grits Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 This is what I did with my kids when school was cancelled due to flooding and bad roads in the rural South. Quote
Dravin Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 I had a craw fish steam pot at Joe's Crab Shack recently and I wasn't overly impressed. I like their craw fish etouffee but found the steampot to be kinda fishy tasting. For those more familiar with craw fish, is this just an aspect of the taste? Or did Joe's ruin something that should have been unadulterated deliciousness? I decided I wouldn't get them at Joe's again, but if someone invited me to a boil I'd not turn it down. Quote
selek Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 Commercial Cajun food is a contradiction in terms. If it ain't cooked in a Cajun kitchen (preferably in Acadia Parish), it ain't Cajun. Now to go heat me up some boudin.... Quote
Tough Grits Posted March 3, 2013 Author Report Posted March 3, 2013 By the way, no actual craw fish were harmed or eaten in the process of taking those pictures! They were all put back in the ditch "river" when we were done. **And were caught again about two hours later when my cousin came by on his 4-wheeler with his two youngest boys. They wanted to catch some too, so we did the whole process again just for them!** Quote
selek Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) By the way, no actual craw fish were harmed or eaten in the process of taking those pictures! Save for being terrified out of their little cockroach-sized minds... Hard to believe that's Rene Aubergenois (Odo from Deep Space Nine). Edited March 3, 2013 by selek Quote
