One day I saw this video clips of scary movies were used and I saw it I didn't like and now I can't get those blood movies of my mind no matter how much I try to avoid them such as gore movies I don't like them but feels like I need to repeat what I do to overcome them and it is really hard for me because I know those can trigger unwanted thoughts and bad thoughts thinking that you might do the same and last month I was listening to black metal to see how it was I don't like I can stop listening to black metal for couple days or weeks but then those thoughts that I need to listen to it or need to watch those clips of movies I don't like it I tried so hard to stop watching it its hard I also talked to my therapist. I really believe that I have OCD what should I really do because it is hard to overcome these thoughts I found that out myself I also had thoughts on harming people I really believe that I have OCD. Please Reply ASAP I need advice because it is so frustrating for me. Quote
Guest Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 If you are going days or weeks, I wouldn't call it OCD. I'd call it a habit you're having a hard time breaking. Decide on something else you can do to fill the time when the temptation hits. Quote
Bini Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 What did your therapist say? Your pdoc is going to be able to better address any behavioral or mental issues better than we are able to. The only advice I would give, which you already know, is to discontinue participating in activities that cause disharmony in your life. I have my own issues with OCD patterns and I know how difficult it can be to break a habit. Try refocusing your attention on something else that brings your spirit up instead of down. I would also re-consult your pdoc and get a game plan put together. Quote
