All revelation is given by God.  However most revelations are given because of circumstances that inquire people to ask God about something revelations include hte first vision and word of wisdom.  The priesthood one was one of them as well.  there were circumstances that led to the president kimball asking about it and prophets from Brigham young to Harold bl lee prayed about it as well and the answer was not yet.

At a glance...

I think the real problem is relying on new revelation above previously written scripture. The reverse seems more stable, trustworthy and authorative: new revelation is only accepted if it is in full accord with scripture already given.

For example, in the NT there is no ban on any one ethnic group over another, "both Jew and Greek are one in Christ" it says. So Christians relying on the NT as authoritative would have to reason to ban a black preacher, but those who did were out of line with the scripture already given (I'm sure mormons were not the only ones banning black preachers).

Like I said before: Allof of em want it both ways. Thats what happens when you blindly accept all the doctrines of Govt, Religion, Science, and philosophy,,,they all have errent and illogical teachings. ALL OF THEM! All Religions, All Govts, all Sciences, and all philosophies. There isnt an exception in the bunch. Not one. Every church, every temple, every school, every government, every society, every planet and civilization in every galaxy and universe. Even the Gods made mistakes over the past thirteen trillion years. They werent perfect either. So to all of you who are losing sleep over this stuff, believe me. Dont worry about it. Were all gonna die no matter what we do. Enjoy a day worry free. Contemplate nothing once in awhile. Youll sleep much better and feel much healthier.

You will excuse me if I don't blindly follow your false doctrine. ;-)

Or give it all to Jesus, and sleep well knowing that you are under the gard of the one and only all-powerful God of the universe...

lie there and contemplate His love for you.

If what you say is true, then everything is really just pointless. We'll go nowhere if even the gods fail, so why even bother contemplating nothing. If gods can make mistakes or be flawed, what are you allowed to get away with?
