I don't understand the ending. It looks like Emma is in the same room with Joseph as he is writing something, and then suddenly the mob comes in and murders Joseph.

But that is not what actually happened.

Can you clarify for me what part of the story I am seeing?

I didn't like the music at the beginning... being LDS I didn't see a problem with your transition of writing a revelation and then being in the Carthage Jail. Others might. The rest of it was nice.

This part of the video is not altered much from how it appears in the Church film. The hand that reaffirms Joseph on his shoulder belongs to Hyrum, not Emma. (I didn't cut anything out there, it just doesn't show clearly in the movie I guess).

Thank you for the clarification.

I am not famliar with these films. Are you positive they are produced by the Church? Is it possible they are made by someone else?

I ask because the ending is completely ahistorical, and I have a hard time believing the Church would produce a film depicting the murder of Joseph, et al, so totally wrong.

I went back and looked at just the martyrdom video, and I see better what they were showing. It is not as wrong as I said it was, though it does leave out significant, though not important, details. So ignore my comments above.

Actually the last Joseph Smith film I saw (at Preston M.C) did actually portray the murder of the prophet and Hyrum (Not graphically, but it was portrayed).

It was a very moving film and I wish I could remember the title of it. There weren't a dry eye in the Training Room at the end of it.
