11 Beautiful and Diverse Depictions of Heavenly Mother

In 1920, Joseph Smith’s teachings revealed that “the divine Mother, [is] side by side with the divine Father.” Helping us to understand that we do in fact have a Heavenly Mother.

The new Young Women Theme says, “I am a beloved daughter of heavenly parents with a divine nature and destiny.” This change emphasizes the importance of our heavenly parents as a divine unit.

This is not the only place where they are referred to as a unit of Heavenly Parents. In fact, The Family: a Proclamation to the World states, “Each [human being] is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents.”

There have been multiple occasions where mortal beings have seen our Heavenly Father. This has given us a vague idea of what he looks like.  But, we don’t know what our Heavenly Mother actually looks like.

Because we don’t know, these depictions of diversity become meaningful and thoughtful. Here are 11 beautiful depictions of our Heavenly Mother.

Mother Earth. Full of grace and beauty. Everything I seek to be. A fierce protector, my perfect friend. And one who understands my journey as a woman. I always seek you. In the plants and the flowers, the rivers and the mountains, I feel you. Mother Earth, Mother Nature, Heavenly Mother. She is there, and she watches. She has woven divinity into each of us. ‘Mother Earth’ Paige Payne April 20, 2020 As always, I’ve been thinking about women a lot. I’ve been thinking about our divine nature, I’ve been thinking about the earth. I’ve been thinking about all the women in my life who have 100% been placed by divine intervention. I’ve been thinking about Mother Earth and how often I feel her these days, especially when I paint her. Whatever this painting means to you, I hope it allows you to feel something. Prints are available on my Etsy or through DMs ❤️

Guyyyys here is the first physical painting on canvas ever on my account 😍🙈 eeeek what do you think?? . “God the mother” acrylic on canvas 30×30” Swipe to see the painting that inspired me, “God the Father” by Cima da Conegliano. . I wanted this painting to show that it only takes a shift of perspective to find Her. We have focused so much on Him that we haven’t realized that She is there too. Back to back, they watch over and love us together. . They are equal, she is not hidden, She is right there. . Thank you to @mcarthurcreating who got me to make this even though I switched it out last minute for another one to use in the upcoming book Girl’s guide to Heavenly Mother 🤦‍♀️😂 stay tuned for more on that next spring . . . . #ipadpro #ipadart #procreate #art #artist #didgitalart #painting #drawing #portrait #artistsoninstagram #digitalillustration #digitalart #art #womenartists #canadianart #montreal #lds #heavenlymother #heavenlyparents #thechurchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #churchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #godess #motherinheaven #gospel #mormon #ldsartist #ldsart #ldschurch #latterdaysaints #girlsguidetoheavenlymother

You began with Her. You are a reflection of Her — handmade and carefully, precisely composed. Your hair, your eyes, your skin, your soul: it all began with Her. You are a created out of all the good that She is and She placed in you the same goodness, to remind you of Home. To remind you of Her. She breathed Her empathy, patience, gentleness into your heart. She crafted Her intellect, creativity, and wondering into your mind. She shaped curves, bones, softness, and strength and gently put them in place. Every inch of you is a painting of Her. She lives in your heart, your mind, your curves and strength and softness. She proudly watches as you learn and lift and serve. She quietly listens to your questions, searching & longing. She holds you and rocks you through your struggles and mourning and prayers. You began with Her. And She continues with you. —- “In Her Image” Amber Eldredge January 16, 2020 —- Prints now available on my website! Use code “HELLO20” to save 20% on any order 💓
