MTC Relocates Sister Missionaries After a Bat Sighting

A sister missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints spotted a bat at the Missionary Training Center, causing the MTC to relocate an entire building of sisters.

KSL reports that after the MTC had moved sister missionaries into a building that had previously been vacant for a while, one sister awoke in the middle of the night to a bat in her room.

Church spokesman Eric Hawkins stated that since the spotting late last week, the MTC has relocated missionaries in that building to other housing on the MTC campus as a precautionary measure. According to KSL, the MTC reassigned housing for about 600 sisters.

Hawkins assured that missionaries will not occupy the building “until it can be determined that it is safe for them to return.”
