one thing that confusese me tho is the priesthood since as a catholic im used to priests being separte from the lay people not being the lay people

ok so update time iv decied to go the my (catholic) chruch and keep reading the book of mormon im still not sure which church has the truth so i guess i need to keep praying

im sry to keep asking such deep questions on what was meant to be an intro theard i just have alot of questtions anyway im wondering what was meant by when brigam young said that joseph smith will judge us on the last day isnt the bible clear that jesus is the the judge of the living and the dead or did young just not say that ive listened to the wrong ppl

i just thought id add about deut 6:4 my catholic bible transaltes the verse as saying "Hear o Isreal! the LORD is our God the LORD alone" that verse to me doesnt seem to say that there is only one God just that for Isreal there is only one that should be worshipied

but if Jesus Christ was born of a virgin then how can he be the son of the Father in the flesh was it because he was conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost

oh i gots another question if we are all children of God then what does it mean when the bible says jesus is the only begotten son of God

so i got a sorta of werid question am being foolish about religion seeing as how ive only been catholic for 2 years am i being stupid

thats one thing i like about joseph smiths view of the creeds. im just parapharsing here but he said something like "i cannot subscribe to the creeds for even tho there are many good things in them i cannot belive everything in them i seek to know the mind of God but the creeds set up stakes and say "hiters shall you come but no further" this is something i cannot belivie"

i understand what the trinity teaches and ill admit thats a problem i have with my catholic faith they say its just a mystery but for me that isnt good enough i want to know God

If you have some more info on eternal progression and exaltation that they dont have please give it to me the more i understand the better

im pretty sure his congergation would be the closest since that is something mormons and catholics have in common there arent many of either of us in Tennessee its mostly baptist around here

thanks everyone for all your help and i can accept the defintion of "god" meaning to live forever i thought it meant that we would become all knowing all poweful and be worshiped and that is something i have a hard time accepting but if it just means that God shall bless us with his knowledge and power then that makes sense i mean if the prophets and apostles on earth had some of the knowlege and power of God then why cant those in heaven have it... Im thinking about asking my newpew who is mormon and one of my best friends to take me to his church would that be ok?

That's one of my problems with the LDS chruch i cant understand how God could have lived on a planet like us but then again i also said the same thing about alot of mormon belifes so i may come around lol

im just wondering is the belife of exhation or eternal progersion the same as the catholic and orthodox belife of theois... and thanks to everyone for taking the time to answer my questions

see i dont really have too much a problem wit God having a physcial body because God can do whatever he wants and take any form he wishes as long as the LDS church teaches that he was God from all time i can accept it because who am i to limit God

Thanks for your responses rico it makes alot more sense now then it did 5 minutes ago. i have another question tho how many gods do mormons belive there are because coming from catholism i find it hard to understand there being more then one and ive heard that mormons belive in more then one but i could be wrong but if im not could u please explain how that would reconcile with ishaili(sp) where the Lord says "before me no god was made and after me no god was made"... thanks!
