One more reason to thank our Founding Fathers for giving these bums the heave-ho. Now if we could just do the same for Brangelina.

Hey, anybody can rent a nun suit. As soon as nuns are exempt from search, a group of "nuns" will hijack a plane.oh my gosh is all i can say

Well, Pam started it this year so I was counting on her to tell Bethie how to join the group. Then I found the directions earlier in the thread. Haven't seen anyone new join, though.
Hey, Bethie: anyone can talk a good game. Come show us on upickem.

Eight feet! Hey, I'm not building a new house just for this game box.
-
And there are two weekly prizes, one local and one national. Watches and stuff. You are welcome to join though with 1/2 of the season gone there won't be a way to catch up. But fun nonetheless to try and beat the guys for the next few weeks.

Totally green with envy. Used to bicycle the coast every summer.... the Central Oregon Coast ...

An interesting feature of the popular fictional Rapture: clothing is left behind.

The Vikings have released Randy Moss after less than a month. They gave the Pats a third-round draft pick and paid Moss 1.5 million bucks.
In that time, Moss had 13 catches, so the Vikes paid $115, 384.62 per catch. Not a bargain.
Look for Favre to be suspended. Could keep his starting string intact if the timing is right.

When Mozart was that age, he would have written the whole 5th symphony.

The author of the WSJ article has an interesting web-site, FreeRangeKids.

I just stick a note one the door early Saturday:
Today is the Sabbath.
Tomorrow is Halloween.
Doesn't matter what I do, really. No one has had the guts to come to my porch on Halloween in decades.

I did last year. Didn't finish by the end of the month and my novel isn't quite 60,000 words, but I did get it finished. About Isaac.

Obviously the squads are pretty lax in NV. Must be like ward teaching.

Just the result of the Church Correlation Committee reading LDS.net.
FWIW, when I was a young BYU student, it's what we called the site of attendance required Tuesday morning lecture.

So can I get them to send my tithing back to me?

Sort of the other side of the coin that produces people who can do no wrong, like that moron Rothlisburger.

Gulliver's Travels isn't quite the kiddy lit book that Disney and others would lead you to believe.
Think the book requires quite a bit of understanding of 18th C. philosophy and Swift himself to get a grip on.

You led most of the season and I came on to win it and neither of us let the computer do our picking. If I remember correctly, the people that didn't pick on their own did better or pretty close to better than those that did last year.
Now it is true that the fan picks or the odds do well against random or irrational picking but the people who actually win do not go with the flow ALWAYS. They have that little sub-set of hunches or "superior" analysis or whatever and it comes through for a few games in the course of the season that makes the difference.
Yea, verily.

Dang! You were leading it most of the year and had great comments and insights. Really going to miss you.Sorry, I'm out this year.
-
I'm going to miss you. You had some of the most amazing picks.Last year I hardly had any time to make my picks. With the little one on it's way I think my time will be completely taken up.
Sorry Pam, not this year.

Anyone else remember Chauncey Riddle at BYU? I've probably got his first name spelled wrong, but he was the most interesting member of the faculty when I was there.
There was someone who had his own read on wealth and income and inequality and much else -- and all from a particular (and traditional (I thought then)) point of view.

This may be the last season for awhile. The collective bargaining agreement ends in March and some people think that the 2011 season will be a lockout or a strike or played with "replacement" players (from Mexico?) or something equally inauthentic.

Actually, the sponsors of the site, Deseret News and SL Tribune, have weekly prizes and there's a grand prize of a trip for two to Hawaii. Hey! Deseret News. You could almost say this counts as church!... and there isn't a prize other than bragging rights.

We agree that that's a fact. The rest of it seems to rest on JF McConkie's biography. Since internal discussions in the church seem to stay internal, we'll have to wait for the rest of the story.Fact: In 1960 President McKay asked Elder McConkie then a Seventy to not have the book reprinted.
