  1. First, Little Children cannot sin, but are Born in Sin? We are Born in sin or a world of sin, and are influenced by the sins of others as soon as we are Born, and will probably reflect that later in life, but as children we cannot sin, because we don't have a full comprehension of what sin is. Second, Multiply & Subdue after or before the Tree of Knowledge Even though God commanded them to multiply, they obviously didn't comply until after they partook of the "Fruit". Before that , they did not have a full understanding of what God wanted. Genesis shows that they followed that commandment after they partook of the fruit. Thirdly, Darkness 3 days or 3 hours? Well these events are happening at different places, a part of America, and Israel. But it does say the "whole face of the earth". Well each is on a different side of the earth; it is round after all. But if it implies the whole atmosphere ( which they couldn't know or prove anyway) then there is a false translation in one of the texts, probably the Bibles, but that's if you didn't like my other explanation. And finally (for now), Perform Passover at Jerusalem only. Well we are talking about two different groups of people, one who cannot travel to Jerusalem. And at that time Jerusalem was a wicked place, or destroyed. Even so, we don't have a fully detailed description of the Nephites religious practices except that they did observe the law atleast to the best of their abilities. They probably performed a passover like ceremony around their temples or greater cities. I hope I helped.
  2. It should not matter if there are minor contradictions in the Bible. There has to be contradictions; we are talking about a 2,000 C.E. Year old book, written by many different authors most of them recording events that happened years before. It's also been translated into several different languages, and it's extremely possible a person could translate different parts of a manuscript wrong, especially if it's damaged or poorly written in some parts. It can also be difficult to interpret doctrinal teachings from the Bible, especially most of the NT which was written to already converted members. The Bible alone is a very poor stand alone witness to God's work; that's why we have the Book of Mormon & revelation to strengthen it's witness and divine influence.
  3. To put it more into our current situation; We need to follow God's laws in this life. If we follow those laws, and stay faithful to them we will be able to pass into the spirit world knowing exactly where we are going, and what we need to be doing. Unlike most people who will likely be lost and confused, and it's our job to help them understand who they are ( children of God), and what laws they need to follow to be ready for judgment, and a receiving of Glory . A Glory which we cannot fully understand at this time.
  4. Sorry if this is confusing; trying to work it out in my head by writing it I guess. Well God's work is to bring immortality and eternal life to man, or increase our intelligence, and nature. There is a certain process that must be followed to reach that level. We need to grow into it. He cannot change that fact, and neither can Satan who thinks it's possible. God knows that laws are in place for us to reach this level, increase to new levels, and the most important part to be happy. When we stop increasing, we give ourselves up to a fixed intelligence with it's own laws to abide and work within that level. God has shown us what these laws are, and what we need to do and be to be at the level he wants for us, which is under Celestial Glory and Laws which will help us to continue to increase, and to be able to be a part of God's work. That work, or state of being is true eternal happiness, to be with our families for eternity, to increase our families, intelligence, creativity, and ability to help lower intelligence increase. This is when we get to the part where we can't understand without understanding eternity first.
  5. "Laws" is a very dirty word. My mind can't work around what I want to say with that word.
  6. the punishment for sin, is unhappiness; it's the natural result of sinning, or doing the wrong thing, it leads us to an unhappy or lowered state of being. If God sinned he would lower his glory or nature, and no longer be a godly being. Sin is us punishing ourselves, not some guy in the sky throwing us in a lake of fire, but us jumping in it ourselves.
  7. I think logically for me anyway, they were born physically, but unlike their parents they were the first spirit son and daughter born into mortality. They were the first "modern" humans, or Homo Homo Sapiens, given the responsibility to populate this earth with the spirit sons and daughters of God, other Homo Homo Sapiens. They were given a more perfect knowledge of good and evil, and an understanding of death being the seperation of both body and spirit. Of course these are my own little speculations, and we can't really know for sure, until we are ready to hear it from God, Adam or whoever wants to tell us in God's behalf.
  8. The Laws of nature are not fixed, but they vary , and can be bent according to ones intelligence. If I was a man from 1000 A.D. and I saw that man would be flying planes, and giant metal ships across the world, I would think they are breaking the laws of nature through some kind of magic. In reality we are bending or working through the laws of nature because we understand them. God works the same way, but his intelligence is far greater than ours infinitely so that he can create these laws, or make them present. To do that he must understand them perfectly, and must have the power to control, and work through them.
  9. I don't think he ever met Joseph, but he probably did hear about him and the Mormon's during that time. During his administration though he read several Books about Mormon's, because that was still a minor issue in 1860, and it was his job to know about them. He had these books in his private library According to Robert Bray's "What Abraham Read": The Book of Mormon The Mormons by John W. Gunnison 1852 Mormonism by John Hyde 1857 Mormonism In All Ages by J.B. Turner 1842
