I know I'm showing my ignorance, but what are dry goods? If you mean flour, etc, I'm afraid the uneven temps may affect vitamin content...

The attic is insulated, but we have a whole-house fan that vens thru the attic and so it gets fresh air. Thanks for the suggestion of water tho. Hadn't thought of that one.

Somewhere I read that you need to be sure that your containers are made of FOOD GRADE plastic (due to off-gassing of some plastics). I guess the wrong kind could make you sick or make the food taste funny.

May be a good reason to keep a bottle or two of Purell on the shelf ...

I have an attic with nothing in it. Given the temperature fluctuations (heat & cold), what can I store up there besides paper products? I hate to have so much storage available and nothing much to put in it.
