It is new to me. Is this a widespread belief within LDS?
-
Maybe it's because horses have beautiful long hair to brush and braid and stuff.
-
You can check box number three if you like.

Do people choose the desires of their hearts? I ask this having gotten the impression that choice is important in LDS.
-
What do you mean by true Luciferians?
-
Just wondering what it would hypothetically be like to y'all (meaning individual LDS perspectives.)
-
Okay, I guess I just want to know what the LDS afterlife for the bad folks is. I guess I could research it myself, but, in the interest of conversation...

Thanks for the reply; it clarified your previous statements.

Well, to play devil's advocate, I would say the adherents of Heaven's Gate experienced a very profound effect on their lives, namely, its cessation. So, what are your criteria for determining whether one religion or course of action is optimal or best, rather than being merely profound or contrasting with others. Hope that question is easy! Thanks

Sorry to go from question to question -- actually, sorry for not explaining that's what I wanted to do or quickly realized after the OP that's what I wanted to do. Asking questions seems like a good way of interacting, even though sometimes or often annoying. I can't blame you for your question, but I would much prefer to answer it with other questions. (For instance, what do you think are reasonable reasons for not believing in god? Is it possible to believe in god but tell no one?) But, I fear testing your patience. Thanks though! PS: I think the reason I ask questions is that it seems the nicest thing I could do, or so I can hope. This just may be the last declarative sentence you ever hear me use! Just kidding.

Are there contradictions in the Mormon writings?

Do you think it is better to apologize for offending someone or bringing an occasion for offense or to simply warn them not to be offended, Christianly speaking? -

What do you think is the difference between your beliefs and LDS, or what is the important difference? Also, do you think god "evolved" in some sense in his relationship with humanity starting from the OT onwards? -
If it's not too personal, can you give me an example of this kind of sin or describe it more exactly?

Are all true believers prophets or "revelators" to a degree? -
So what do they then do, and what ultimately happens to them? How would they go about worshiping Lucifer?
-
Either way.

What does it mean in LDS for someone to be a satanist? Also, if a saint sins occasionally (which I do not know if that occurs) but is still well within the path to salvation, then, similarly, what if we have a satanist who is otherwise a fairly average citizen of America who occasionally does the will of god by mistake? That is, what if he seeks to follow the promptings of the devil, but occasionally screws up and listens to the holy spirit? I hope this is a fun question.

That is a very forward-looking attitude. Would you say that yours is a forward-looking religion? Hopeful &c.? -

Perhaps you should read some of the relevant writings and find some apparent contradictions to discuss. Without being too familiar with them myself, perhaps we could ask for enlightenment on contemporary views and feelings on the evolution that has taken place within the LDS church with respect to the big issues of polygamy and people of african descent in the priesthood. Those are common knowledge, I suppose, but maybe there are others. So, question: what does the evolution of prophecy mean to everyone? I have heard some views on this subject, but it might be fun to discuss it firsthand. Hope that is a useful direction of discussion. -
Wasn't, still, Jesus executed by the will of the mob?

Thanks for the welcome and the correspondence!

Two questions: when you say "them", I do take it that you mean the Holy Spirit is numerous (not to say "legion," which is sort of a joke, if you catch me). Second, does the spirit principally answer to "yes or no" questions, or are other types of questions possible too? And, seriously, given this, can they speak through an Ouija board if the person's heart is sincere, etc? Follow up: do the questions have to be relevant to actions you might take, broadly speaking, rather than, say, whether the Magic will win game 5? Is there some way to broadly classify them as I am trying to here? Are the spirits simply silent on any types of questions, I mean?

Fair enough. Is everything else, then, a lie? Can we place Jesus on a dialectic, with his antithesis being lies?
-
Does the personal history quote stuff fall under the category of personal communication with god? Thanks!

Is this shorthand for, "many are willful liars"? Just trying to kind of make your language more straightforward, for me, if possible.
