hey all, l said l have a busy schedule just logged on and l read a few threads but l gotta hurry up, l've got to head to work soon. here are a few questions. l had asked about the polygamy thing in another thread and from what l understand, it was commanded by God? but then stopped when it became against the law right? but then in another thread l read today that was talking about Homosexual marriage, someone said that even if it is legalised, God's commandments are higher than law. if that's the case, then by that logic, polygamy should still be practiced. but it was stopped when it became illegal. my question about why polygamy was practiced in the first place wasn't fully answered either. why was it put in place in the first place? even if it isn't practiced now, it was, so the Mormon religion cannot say it is a sin or morally wrong, but polygamy IS wrong, at least l think so... Marriage is between a man and a woman, not women... >_> my friend gave me a book of mormon and if l have time l'll try reading some of it, but this religion seems a little strange for me. l'll prolly just stick with being agnostic. that doesn't mean l'm no longer curious about your beliefs, l wanna understand her religion better.

why was Polygamy practiced in the first place? not to try to "derail" the conversation but l am curious. l've heard some of these answers already and l'd like a little more detail. As for caffeine, if you can drink it if you want, why are you told not to? normally when someone is told not to do something, it means there is something bad about it, which is why l ask, what is so bad about caffeine?

oh, oops, sorry. l forgot what he was called so l just put pastor instead. but l remember he's called a bishop now. (like in chess... l'll hafta use that to remember) l only said hi and shook his hand after the service because l had to dash off to work real quick. (last min shift change >_> someone was sick) l have a few questions already but l think l'll post them on a separate thread since this is just me introducing myself

Hello, l guess it's obvious that l'm new. hehe l'm not really sure what l believe in, growing up in my family we weren't very religious and it didn't really matter much. My sister has over the years gotten pretty strongly Atheist but l've kinda always thought that there has gotta be something... just haven't found it yet. a girl in one of my classes this semester is Mormon and invited me to her church last sunday with her, kinda neat how there is a chapel for people who are in college, and the pastor is pretty nice. l've heard a little bit about the mormons but not much. so started looking online. found this website and figured l could ask questions. so here l am.
