You know what? I love Christmas, I do. I love Halloween, Valentines day, Easter but for me, Christmas was and has been always special to me. Unfortunate for me, I work at Walmart; in the Garden Center. Now for all those who have never worked retail or at Walmart or in the Garden Center let me tell you something, I love my job but at the same time....I LOATHE it. Why? I set it all up. I fix the shelving, put on the labels so that customers can see what the price is and fill it with merchandise. Halloween, and Christmas are my favs because I get to see what we are putting out before the customers do. I love that part but after that it is a nightmare from the lowest pits of Hell. Pretty soon, after the first month passes and no one buys a thing, it is nice and quiet and things are in their right places. But after that it is a nightmare and the part that I hate more than anything. Right now it is the week before Halloween, and in my local walmart that I work at.....it is not only busy( which i love because customers are buying) but the mess....every night I close and every night it is a mess, a disaster, like a hurricane came through and demolished it.
Christmas you would think wouldn't be as bad. No, it isn't. It is just about the same. Except there aren't any costumes or friggin masks to pick up. No, it is other stuff. Glittery, broken pieces of glass and the most annoying is when people have to open and look at the Xmas lights. Even though there is a picture of them on the box. People are suppose to be more Christ like and nice to everyone. Not for me, people getting grumpy just because I don't have the right kind of wrapping paper or the right bow. Or the darn Xmas music that goes on and on forever and no one changes the songs and we start with the music well into November. For me, I try very hard to get into the Spirit of Christmas, I only get it it when I am peaceful and quiet at home.
