  1. Good to be here too. Thanksgiving has been great. Just got home from one gathering, and we're soon heading off to another. Many things to be thankful for! Hope your Thanksgiving has been a happy one too. :)
  2. Thankfully, such suffering does have an end.
  3. Yes - and I guess we should make that very clear. Wouldn't want anyone thinking by our joking that we were deliberately seeking to insult others. Only that the LDS were accused of insulting people, even when using the most harmless of smilies. :)
  4. Hey - do they have a tutu smiley here too? Maybe that other place needs more smilies to better insult people...
  5. Yep, me too! But I need your AKA, you know, so I can recognize ya! I'm better with names than with faces, ya know...
  6. Thank you much. An oasis does sound refreshing. :)
  7. They have the LDS sections under the unorthodox category, which is under the theology category.
  8. I just wandered over to CF for a look see and discovered that though that post/thread had been removed, it's now back again. Can't help wonder why, and also wonder how many more that they removed, they've put back. Curious thing.Edit: Well now I only find 4 of his threads in the debate forum, so I'm confused again.
  9. I'm thoroughly enjoying reading your commentary, thekabalist, and very much looking forward to more. Thank you for sharing with us from the Jewish perspective. It's not only extremely interesting, but I must say (and I'm sure I'm not alone) it will add a very appreciated depth to my reading and study. Thanks! :)
  10. Just a little tip, or pointer, for those who are physically able to fast, but who may find it especially difficult. Entering a fast in a state of dehydration (a state many of us habitually live in) makes a fast far more difficult. The bigger difficulty in fasting actually comes from thirst, rather than hunger, though one may not recognize the difference in symptoms. However, if one keeps his body properly hydrated on a daily basis, then, when the time for a fast comes, going without food and drink for 24 hours is not the burden it is when the body is already in need of water at the onset of the fast. This one simple thing can make fasting a much more spiritually meaningful experience.
  11. That surely puts understanding and light on it. Thank you for explaining. :)
  12. I, too. I've always enjoyed learning about the religious beliefs, rites, practices, and customs of others. I don't have to believe just as they, in order to appreciate and respect the beauty of the things they hold sacred.
  13. Now that particular post I did copy and save, just because I wanted to keep it, and now I'm glad I did, with how things turned out. But I, too, will let him answer. :) If you'd like a copy though, I'll PM it to you.
  14. [[Note: the other forum I was speaking of, was a completely different web site. Not this one. Just want to make that very clear.]] In the other forum I had asked thekabalist about the marriage ceremony in Judaism. Since we were not able to continue there, I wanted to begin again here. These were the questions and answers we had up until the point we had to cease conversing: We found this very interesting, and are looking forward to learning more. :) (thank you thekabalist)
  15. I'm Zechariah. I actually switched over for the same reason RanMan did, though I may not have much time to post on forums these days. But, I'm glad to be here just the same. I'm looking forward to some fresh air.
