I do not know enough about this to really have an opinion but, do I believe it was Possible that Jesus married during his mortality? Yes. Do I think he could have had kids? Yes. Do I think he actually did have kid(s)? No. The point is that we simply dont have all the facts. We cant discount Jesus being married or being a father simply because the scriptures do not mention it...after all nearly the whole of his life's account is missing from scripture. He drops off the RADAR at age 12 or so and then only resurfaces again when he takes on his ministry at age 30. A lot can happen between ages 12 and 30. And regarding Mary M. The Catholic church has admitted that her good name was tarnished wrongfully by the Catholic Church during the dark ages and has just in recent years admited it and stated that Mary M was not a whore after all. What I do find interesting is that Jesus showed himself to Mary M before anyone else...before his own mother, before his apostles, before his step-father Joseph, everyone. Why? Everything he did had a reason behind it. Nothing he did was just random. I do believe Jesus could have been married and could have had children...but I only think that he may have been married and I dont believe he had children. Why? Because His mission was to save the world and fulfill the law not to multiply and replinish the earth. With all that Jesus had to undertake, having children would have been very hard and Jesus may have looked like a negligent father being so busy. I shall ramble no more...

I dont get it? You like to fantisize about cutting things in two?

Have you noticed that when you see someone in dire need you think "Oh I wish I could help them" and sometimes you do actually try to help "as much as you can". For people in need you will donate time, energy, money,...but for a family member, a child a brother or sister, you dont say "I'll do what I can" instead you say "I'll climb up on this cross and die for you" "I'll make sure this is resolved" If we are just little things that God has made and fell in love with like a divine pet, why would He do what He does for us? PrisionChap, you compair us humans to dogs and Christ as the only begotten of God Almighty...why then does it make sense for the Master to sacrifice His "only" son for the family pets? I am a son of God. Created in the simlitued of the Begotten. My potential is to recieve All that the Father has as a joint heir with Christ. If I were the devil, I too would attack your most precious attribute, who you are. Thou son of man.

Perhaps we can give the smokers something like those oxygen masks in airplanes...only fill it with the smoke from their favorite brand of cigarette, which they purchase at the snack bar with their nachos. That way they dont have to go outside and can still get that fix without effecting others who dont smoke. Maybe even give them goggles so the smoke will be lightly in their eyes, as they are acustomed to? Its the wave of the future!!!!

You will know "by their fruit". Do they yeild mature fruit for their age? Ahead of their age? Or no. That is how you tell if your child is mature. They will behave maturly. I dont get why this is so hard. Seems pretty point blank to me.

By reading this post I just realized something. Well, two things really. 1. I now know there is a thing called "open forum" and 2. I cant get in. How does this work?

Of course I was just joking.

Luke 187:12 "And ye shall know my church by its abundant child care and hassle free sermons. 13 And if it proclaims the gospel in its fullness, having the priesthood and authority to act in the name of the Father and the Son yet it have no hassle free child care, it is surly of that evil one. Yay even the devil who wanted to take away the agency and free child care of man from the beginning.

Fainnan, a quote from the link you offered... The Mormon Church has often been criticized as rigidly patriarchal. Under Mormon beliefs, for example, women cannot attain the highest degree of celestial glory unless they are married, and only men are allowed to achieve full status as church members. This is a fine example of "ignorance is bliss". Women cannot attain the highest degree of the celestial glory unless they are married? Oh no!...oh, wait, that applys equally to the men. Ok, and now what about the women not being able to achieve "full status" as church members? Do we only baptize the women's feet? Every member of the Church is equal. I am just as much a member of the church as Gordon B Hinkley. Now, if they're refering to the priesthood offices then they are still very ignorant. Priesthood offices are male positions. There are numerous female positions in the church. Do we really think it would be productive to have some man teaching Relief Society? Thats a ticking time bomb! Sure the church is patriarchal, just as the Lord set it up. However, the women hold equal membership and hold high and essential offices and callings. Its almost not worth replying to this rubbish but I figure it was an easy 2 points so I went ahead and replied.

I'm sorry. I didnt mean that the children bother me when they're getting tired and fussy due to the hour long meeting. thats normal and expected. What I was talking about is when the kids are fighting over a toy, yelling at the top of their lungs or even walking the isles at random *this happens more than you may know* and the parent does nothing. Or worse when the parent decides to dicipline the child right there in sacrement! Thats what I was talking about.

I agree with PrisionChap. I think its silly to watch parents snag an extra piece of bread and put it into some kids mouth who is not only not old enough but facing the opposite direction, using the pew as a table for which he is coloring in his Elmo coloring book. All the kid is learning is "when I color in this book I get bread shoved in my face". What I do like to see are the kids that are almost old enough to be baptized get so excited about it that they want to start "practicing". I dont think its going to effect their eternal progression to take the sacrement early but lets be at least logical and wait until the child asks for it before we just start force feeding them a holy emblem. I look at it this way, Marriage is also sacred and holy, and we prepare for it by dating. We have an age minimum in our church of 16. Now, would it make sense to send out the younger than 16 year old kids out on dates or take them on dates with us so that they "can learn" how to date? How rediculous! I think it holds true to the sacrement also. And to answer PrisionChap's question of is Sacrement like The Lord's Supper the answer is its exactley the same. We partake of it weekly instead of at say, just Easter. But unlike the Catholics we feed ourself and the priests dont feed it to us.

as "ALatterDaySaint", who believes in the sealing ordanances of the Temple I believe that what kept Job from getting wroth with the Lord and life in general over the loss of his children is the knowledge he had that they were still litterally his children. Notice when Job is rewarded in the end the number of new children equals the number of children he "lost" yet everything else is roughly doubled in proportion. Why? Because the first group of children were/are still his children and if he'd had double that number on earth it would have trippled his reward. Thats the lesson that stands out to me even above the whole "trust in God" lesson. Or rather I should say this aspect reenforces "Trust in God".
