  1. There's a difference between feeling attracted and imagining sex with someone who isn't yet your wife - make sure you control your thoughts if it's the latter! As that is sin. But not enough sin to confess to the Bishop. :)
  2. "He that hath friends must shew himself friendly" - that's almost a quote from the bible somewhere, I think in Proverbs. My advice to you - get out the house and get doing things. Sports clubs, college clubs, anything of that sort. What are you interested in? When you go out and meet new people, show an interest in them, ask them questions, smile and be cheerful - you can be cheerful even if you don't feel happy. Be a light for others and forget yourself and your problems. Dare I say your verging on self-pity a little here You have a lot to offer - we all do - when it comes to helping others. If your lonely, only you can change the situation. On top of this, you need understanding from the Lord. Prayer won't always help without work as well. So get on your knees to ask for help, then get off them and do something about it! the Lord will bless you as you put in efforts to get busy and serve others. Wallowing, won't do any good. Read your scriptures every day for inspiration and guidance and pray about the right things - where to invest your time, who to focus on, guidance on what to do. And it terms of girls - don't worry about them! that's the best way to actually get another one. Smile, work, be happy, and get out the house!!!
  3. It's all to do with the Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. When Christ atoned for the sins of the world, he atoned for every living person who has ever lived and will ever live on this earth. There were two main effects of His Atonement, first, because He was resurrected, everyone would be resurrected, and second, because He suffered for our sins, we could be free from the effects of sin if we follow certain steps to follow him, which are faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end. Check out True to the Faith for a good reading on the Atonement. It is the most important event in man's history. So receiving the Gospel would mean they can benefit from the Atonement, meaning they can be cleansed from sin.
  4. Very good question! Yes, the work has to be done for every person who has ever lived. As you can imagine, that's a lot of names! The work is done in temples throughout the world as best that can be done with the resources we have (the LDS Family Search website is one of the biggest in the world for Family History Research) and the rest of the names are left to the Lord in a period of 1000 years called the Millennium, during which work will continue in the temples until all the work has been done for those who have died without a knowledge of baptism and the Gospel. This means the Lord is mindful of every person and those who did not have a chance to receive the Gospel on this earth will have an opportunity to receive after death. They will still be judged according to their own conscience of what they knew was right and wrong.
  5. God has got a body which is the same size as a normal man's body, yes - i.e. he is not ten times bigger than the earth etc. When Joseph Smith had the First Vision, he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and they both had physical bodies, just like we do. God made man "after his own image" (Genesis) and so our bodies are patterned after his body.
  6. Hi there I am a member of the Church and a returned missionary. I thought I'd add my voice and testimony to a few posts. I'm a newbie to this forum though, so be nice to me. :)
