A simple answer I could give is wanting to be closer to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. But there's more to it then that. When I started looking into the church, I was amazed at how family oriented it is and how wonderful and kind Latter-day Saints are. I was touched when two Latter-day Saint missionaries came to my door. They were kind, warm in their greetings, and really just nice to be around. What touched me the most was when they gave me the Book of Mormon. One night I started reading the Book of Mormon, and honestly, I couldn't put it down, because I knew it was the word of God, I knew that it was real, and I believe Joseph Smith was the first prophet. Sadly though, my father told me the LDS church was a cult, and got rid of my Book of Mormon (I have no idea where it is). But you know what, that didn't stop me from believing. It made me stronger in my belief that the church is the true church. Admittedly, there were a few times that I felt like giving up, but, me being as stubborn as I am, I persisted. I don't believe I'll be baptized or attend a service anytime soon (because of my parents), but I'll always believe, and I am going to try my best to be a Latter-day Saint in all but name.
So brothers and sisters, I hope to join you soon! I am so looking forward to being baptized in a couple years, but it'll be worth the wait!
