I too am somewhat surprised by the Temple announcement in Tijuana, though I can see the reason for it logistically. I would think that it would be built in nearby Mexicali before it would be built in Tijuana, but then, I was surprised East Berlin allowed a temple and had one built before West Berlin.
I think the influence of such a place will be positive, however I recall the Temple in Monterrey has issues with the crime in its area and so often finds itself closed due to the violence. Remember in Tijuana they sometimes hang the heads of the assassinated or murdered upon bridges through the city.
In the distant future, when people look back at the spiritual words and scriptures written in our times, the Gaddianton may indeed be identified in that wonderful, country going through very difficult times. The Mexican people bear much, let us hope one day they will be equally blessed.
