  1. we are taught that what we learn in this life will be taken with us. I believe that those who are mentally handicap really learn more than we know. We don't know what goes on in their brains. They observe so much and take in so much. I have a good friend who has a handicap son and although he doesn't talk (he's 10) he is one smart cookie. I don't think they will be any less off in the next life.
  2. That's cool They are a really nice family!
  3. that's awesome. I don't have the patience to make my own stuff, LOL. But I admire people who do!
  4. See, and 30 sounds like hardly any to me! There's probably nearly 200 at my kids highschool! That's out of about 1500 students though.
  5. Yes I do!!! Known them for a long time. I'm not in the same ward anymore though.
  6. I am in Richland. I'm just hoping we find an area where there are more than 30 LDS kids in a school. LOL. We're kind of spoiled here.
  7. That's the problem. We don't know exa try where we'll be yet. We won't be moving the kids til the summer. Husband started Wednesday but we don't want to pull the kids out if school. I'd just hate to move to an area that has so few LDS kids from what mine are used to.
  8. We are moving to Spokane. Currently in the Tri-Cities in WA. Their Highschool has about 1600 students with more than 7 full, release time seminary classes!!
  9. I just joined this message board today but I had to chime in on this issue. I think your friend might be looking for a reason not to come back. Whoever said it here that satan is always looking for ways to pull us down. And I agree, if she wants to come back she should be talking to her bishop. I saw or heard somewhere that the church is having a second look at homosexuality. There have been medically proof that it may not be just a lifestyle choice but an actual chemical imbalance. Personally, I think it's wrong. There are many people who are active members of the church who claim to be gay. But they don't "practice" it. In your friend's case, a one time thing 7 years ago is no reason to be ousted!
  10. Hey there ladies (and gents if there's any). Just found this message board out of a need for help. We will be moving our family in the summer and I"m trying to find info on schools and seminary programs. I have 2 girls currently in high school with release time seminary, meaning they can have an open hour at school where they can take their saminary class, and there's a building right on the shcool grounds. It's fabulous! So,what I"m looking for is a way to find out about seminary programs at other schools. Is there a way to search for that, does the church have that info out there somewhere. There is high population of LDS kids where we live and I'd hate to move to a school district where it is drastically lower, if I can help it. Thanks so much for your help!!!
