Jack, it appears you have a large set of trials and are in need of counseling. I do not envy your burden, and I understand your valid frustrations. Regarding your Bishop ... no one should ever deny counseling to one who *needs* counseling. Appeal. I imagine you know the process ... speak with the Stake President. If still no help, appeal again, etc.. I also understand your ostracized situation in your ward. This has happened to me in a couple wards in my lifetime so far. Single 30+s do tend to be looked down upon among family wards, and we know this ought not to be. The next steps in your life are to seek counseling and seek friends. Making friends helps both your social situation and job opportunities. It's not what you know, it's who you know. As has been stated, once a decent job is secured, then is the time to date. For now ... friends. Your friends don't have to be LDS. Don't worry about marriage, first thing's first ... to stabilize your situation emotionally, socially, and financially. Pray to the Lord that He will help you find good friends. I have faith He will help you, but the Lord requires us to do our part. :)

I suspect anthony = Scotty. Same writing style.

Thanks for judging someone you don't understand or know. Read my explanation in the "Am I being paranoid thread". Thanks for giving us a good laugh by your lack of skill :)

Welcome to Utah! Where the women consistently swoon over jerks And secretly get laid by them While nice guys are left to ponder the perks Of being alone over the weekend Don't believe me you say? Behold the hardened murderer locked in jail How women still flock his way As nice guys try so hard but fail O the great effort put forth in a date Squandered upon a woman so vain Who's too ignorant to appreciate And sells her soul for "fun" again Welcome to Utah! Where college grads earn $6.50/hr And multi-level marketing is so prevalent Thanks to corporate crime still in power And college grads then become desperate O the joy of twisting statistics To make everything look A-O-K To keep all in their ignorance So those in power continue their way Attention to you Joe and Chris Cannon Greased by Abramoff and Farmers Insurance Ye cannot serve both God and Mammon And above your head falls the sword of justice Welcome to Utah! PS- Hunt vigorously for jobs. If the job market blows in your area - MOVE! If the dating market blows in your area - MOVE! Don't stay stuck in a rut -- ponder and pray on the best direction to get out of the rut. After 5 years of dating in Utah I found nothing but women labelling me "too nice." Once I moved to California, things improved exponentially. I'm now married to the woman of my dreams. :) PPS- (stating the obvious) Remember hygeine and be social. It's not what you know, but who you know.

Ether 4:13-19.It's your choice.

Yes. There is still speculation on when, but many scholars believe the rapture will occur after the 42 months (1,260 days) of tribulation, just prior to when the entire earth is cleansed by fire. Also, we teach that there will be MANY that are not-LDS alive on the earth when the Savior comes. This entails that there will be many non-LDS among Zion and involved in the rapture.

Thank you prisonchaplain - this is basically what I'm trying to get at ... regarding watching for the Lord's coming. My above post was on the topic of: those not watching for His coming will end up caught with their pants down and find themselves among the 5 virgins without oil in their lamps (which also tend to persecute those watching ... like the Nephites in the Book of Mormon). With this in mind, one can then understand my last post :) One thing we do know from the Bible - it will happen 'as a thief in the night' and only those watching for His coming will be prepared for it. I'm fairly certain these are they who comprise Zion in those days.

What manner of Christians are those that persecute other Christians who watch for the Lord's Coming? Who shall declare this generation of apathetic pharasees laden with vanity? With an impervious heart they turn aside the just for a thing of naught. They seek the Lord with their lips but seek not the Lord, neither seek themselves learning. Notwithstanding this, the Lord will grant them the desires of their hearts for a season. They shall rail, and none shall reciprocate. They shall hiss, and none shall stay their mouths. And then cometh to pass that which they have not considered, and in that day they shall spurn in the midst of the air, and cry in the streets to plea. They shall stay themselves and wonder- O Zion, where hast thou fled?

Excellent! Now read the Book of Mormon. :) well the bible doesnt talk about the book of Mormon... that's what i dont get. Is the book of mormon scripture or doctrin or what? My dear Scotty, what part of R - E - A - D do you not understand? Like I stated before, if you do not read the Book of Mormon but instead read about the book ... then you will never come to know Christ, but only know about Him. Until you do this and actually *read* the book, you will forever remain in darkness and confusion. I repeat, you will not find inner peace until you read the book.

Excellent! Now read the Book of Mormon. :)

In time, you will know.Meanwhile if you were to study the developments of China, the planting and growth of Communism, or even just the plans of them that propagated the philosophy that you believe, you would also know. Until then, here's a hint: "The only thing new under the sun is the history you don't know" -- Harry Truman

If you wanted to learn about the Bible, would you read about the Bible? Or read the Bible? Read the book. Once you're done reading it, study the book. Once you're done studying it, search the book. Once you're done searching, ponder the contents of the book. Once you're done pondering, pray about the book. Until then, you will never come to know Christ, but only know about Christ. It's your choice.

Since you believe you know so much, perhaps you could tell me ...Who owns the Federal Reserve? Who prints your money?

Indeed! These include 2 Nephi 5:5-6 ... Omni 1:12-13, 5-6 ... Alma the Elder ... Lehi ... the brother of Jared ... and then there are the many prophecies of Zion as well. The Book of Mormon teaches by history-example as well as in plain prophecy. :)
