  5. Please delete my account from this forum. The eternal "Mother-May-I" post status is ridiculous.
  6. Does that mean I can't drop in and say "hi" to you? On the contrary, I have been waiting for you to drop back by. Why am I still on "Mother May I" posting? Can't carry on a dialogue that way.
  7. Does that mean I can't drop in and say "hi" to you?
  8. sgallan-Glad to hear the Dotster is doing better. I have fond regards for her. She was the first moderator to ever suspend me. (Kinda brings a tear to my eye.) We grew to be friends. She's cool. I appreciated her ability to mederate witth a great sense of humor. I kinda miss the folks over there: Scott Quantz, "Biceps" Bob, etc. Maybe, Your Gadfly will have to visit over there.
  9. Is that a bashing of our prophet?... Nope.
  10. That's right. He probably could have jumped over the Empire State Building, towed the Queen Mary with his teeth, and bowled a perfect game. But could he remember all of his anniversaries ???

  13. I love cats, but I have a dog's brain
  14. BF Westcott and FF Bruce are recognized scholars in the field whose writings have stood academic scrutiny for decades. Yet you consider pronouncing them "stupid" as a sufficient response.Guess you just gotta keep them shoes dancing. BTW, the quotes were not cut and pasted from a website. They were cut and pasted from personal research notes. I own the books they came from and I have read the entire books they came from. So your comment... ... is a false conclusion. Guess you just gotta keep them shoes dancing. Restornu
  15. B. F. WESCOTT, cited by Paul Little in Know Why You Believe, p. 30. “Indeed, taking all the evidence together, it is not too much to say that there is no historic incident better or more variously supported than the resurrection of Christ. Nothing but the antecedent assumption that it must be false could have suggested the idea of deficiency in the proof of it.” F. F. BRUCE, The New Testament Documents: Are They Reliable?, p. 15. “The evidence for the New Testament writing is ever so much greater than for many writing of classical authors, the authenticity of which no one dreams of questioning... And if the New Testament were a collection of secular writings, their authenticity would be regarded as beyond all doubt.”
  16. “It would never enter anyone’s head, to ask whether Jesus had lived, unless before asking the question the mind had been darkened by the wish that he had not lived.” (Roderic Dunkerley, Beyond the Gospels, 29-30) I think I that I can safely state, without fear of disagreement, that Roderic Dunkerley is a big freaking idiot. Besides which Restornu, the point is not whether Jesus lived, the point is whether there is any evidence for it. You acted like there was but you were mistaken. Now, do you have some real evidence or are you going to put up more goofy quotes that make no sense. Seriously, that quote was inane, demonstrably false and inane. Oh, did I already say inane? There is more historical evidence for the life of Christ than most of the historical personages of comparable antiquity. Read Habermas' book and Please leave the snide comments behind.
  17. “It would never enter anyone’s head, to ask whether Jesus had lived, unless before asking the question the mind had been darkened by the wish that he had not lived.” (Roderic Dunkerley, Beyond the Gospels, 29-30) Can you provide independent proof you were ever on a parsnip truck? Restornu
  18. GREAT RESOURCE:Habermas, Gary R., The Historical Jesus: Ancient Evidence for the Life of Christ. (College Press, 1996)
  19. Okay prove it without using any LDS canonized scripture. Any secular source independent of the gospels from the NT would be great. M. Cornelius Tacitus (AD 55-120): “Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and afflicted the most exquisite torture on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius ant the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilate, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome...” (Annals, AD115) Flavius Josephus (AD 37-97): “At this time there was a wise man who was called Jesus. His conduct was good and he was known to be virtuous. And many people among the Jews and other nations became his disciples. Pilate condemned him to be crucified and to die. But those who had become his disciples did not abandon his discipleship. They reported that he had appeared to them in three days after his crucifixion, and that he was alive; accordingly he was perhaps the Messiah, concerning who the prophets have recounted wonders.” (Antiquities, AD 90-95)
