  1. Kind of a basic list, but here's some of mine - Believing Christ, Stephen Robinson Joseph Smith: Rough Stone Rolling, Richard Bushman Of all Things! Classic Quotes from Hugh Nibley - Great introduction to Nibley Autobiography of Parley P. Pratt, Parley P. Pratt Just a short list from me..
  2. I guess I should enjoy institute while I can right? Actually, there's a lot of people at BYU-Idaho that have their religion classes they go to then on Thursday nights they pack one of the buildings for institute. I had a friend that did that every week and she loved it I guess my big thing with Institute is that (in my mind) it seems like it's a lot of people talking about fluffy things about the scriptures and not getting down to the meat of things. I know that the Institute teachers have to cater their lessons to everyone, but I wish it would get a little more in depth
  3. The last few winters weren't as bad as they could have been - it's not uncommon to get below zero for the entire day while walking to class, and people who have never driven in winter weather (IE, people from California) are probably the scariest drivers ever. For the most part, it's pretty fun though - lots of hills to go sledding on, and the only thing you have to worry about is crossing parking lots because they get iced over I've been there since Fall of '05 and I've loved every minute of it Jriddick, what classes are you taking?
  4. I was reading Bushman's "On the Road with Joseph" where he describes his feelings about JS: RSR, and he says that he thinks the church is going from faith-promoting stories in the CES classes to unbiased teaching. Joseph Smith was a great example. I think that the institute classes sometimes put men up to be exhalted when they were just men with prophetic callings. I donno, I wish they would get a little more in depth and not try to make everyone feel good
  5. I go there, and its really an interesting place. They just announced the dedication for the temple to be in February, and with all the construction it's gonna be changing a lot - just get ready for the winters
