nah i'm in arizona..... aka the country's largest oven... i think sunsplash is a pretty big chain tho.... is yours a Golfland too???? (its like two parks in one- one is a gooney golfing park, the other is a waterpark and together its called Golfland Sunsplash... by the way, does anyone else call miniature golf gooney golf??? everyone here makes fun of me for calling it that, but thats what my parents have always called it...- they both grew up in Utah so is it maybe a utah thing?????

here's what our school did last year, but you'll have to get some outside help- we (the student council) planned this post-prom party at Sunsplash- (for those of you who don't know what that it- its a huge waterpark.) They opened the park for us from like 1 AM-5 AM, and we charged everyone like 10 bucks to get in. It went over really well and a ton of people came- not just the mormon kids who were looking for a getting drunk alternative.... maybe you could do something like that- and it even entices those who would normally go have a crazy party or something to come and stay outta trouble!

So Where Is Everyone From?
gimpandproudofit replied to Writer_Chick1213's topic in Youth and Seminary
ya know, i actually like living in such an LDS populated area- i know for myself that i'm not leaning on anyones but mine own faith, and its nice to have people that relate to you. It's cool to not be the only one who has on a modest dress at prom, and its cool that lots of people ask me questions about my religion, because they are curious about the enormous amount of people at our school who believe in the same thing. The only big drawback is being compared to everyone else- aka "she doesn't drink caffeine, why do you?" and having to live with the reputation (whether good or bad) that my peers set. sometimes its hard living up to the "molly mormon" thats in one of my classes and stuff like that -
honestly, girls know how hard it is to get up the courage to ask us out.... and most of us respect that- so i think i speak for most girls when i say that if a guy can ask me on a date, or even just to dance, to my face, then i'll say yes; even if he does sound like a blabbering idiot or can't even look me in the eye!! props to all you guys out there- ya'll have a hard job and i'm glad i'm not in your place!!! good luck buddy, go make some girl's day!!

are you kidding me???? a) i can't imagine having a school that is that freaking small but b) i don't think i could do it being the only LDS kid in my entire school.... do you get a lot of crap for it or are people ok with it because you're the only one?? -
i know that is really good advice, but I don't know my bishop hardly at all. we just moved into a new ward about a month and a half ago and theres nobody in that ward that i feel ok talking with. they're not very friendly.... am i allowed to go to my old bishop? i was really close with him... or are you not able to do that once you're not in their ward anymore?

i don't know what to do with my life- its seems like no matter what I do or how i act, i can't be truly happy. people around me think that there is nothing going in my life, but i think i'm just putting on a face for them, and even for myself sometimes. i know that everyone has disapoinments and things that don't work out in their lives, but its seems to me that that is all i have in my life. i'm trying so hard to be happy, and sometimes i'll have a day or a night when i really am, but then after that it just goes back to how it was. i think i need to get my partriartical (sp i know) blessing, i'm 17 and a half and i still haven't gotten it..... will that help??
-
so you weren't baptized till you were 28??? thats really comforting- i have a friend who i want to share the gospel with so bad- there's something special about him and for some reason i just know that he needs it... but i worry about him being too old and already set in his ways and his religion.... he's 18 and catholic..
-
so i was just wondering something- we all know that Christ wasn't born Dec. 25th and that it was actually in April, but are we the only church that believes/knows that? is this kinda common knowledge for other churches? and if so, then why do we still celebrate His birth in December????

well Franken... looks like you and I should be grateful huh? i'm from mormonville arizona.... fastest growing city in the nation right now- and my stake is the fastest growing stake in the entire LDS church- my high school has about 3200 kids in it- and while its not as LDS populated as yours in Utah- we have about 3-5 seminary classes running 1st-7th hour, with about 25 people in each.... you can do the math..... i'm amazed at all of you guys who can count the mormons in your school on your fingers.... you have so much strength- i'm not sure i could do it. props to ya! -
hey ive been friends with this gal jaime 4 over a year and we met on a chat site we didnt even no that both of us was mormon untill like a moth after we met and were better friends than ever so long distance relationships do work, and u owe me a sorry that really hurt ............. jk no you just jump to conclusions - i said that its not possible to fall in love through a long-distance relationship when you've never met.... long-distance friendships? fine. falling in love and then being split apart and keeping the relationship going? fine. BUT if you've never met the person, you can't fall in love with them....
-
i hate to break it to ya but I don't think its really possible to fall in love through a long-distance relationship, when you've never met...... you got played honey and it really stinks.... aren't guys the greatest? lol- good luck with getting over the hurt though, i know its hard- i would start looking for good guys that live near you that you can actually meet. sometimes i know that seems impossible but i have proof that there is some really good guy for you if you just look deep enough!!

Should We Be Able To Mosh At Youth Dances?
gimpandproudofit replied to a topic in Youth and Seminary
haha you spelled Christian wrong too.... -
no i think it was definitely meant for us- thats just what the New Era is.... if its was for older people, it would be in the Ensign... it has stuff about marrying in the temples NOW even though we only are 15, 16, and 17...
-
haha now that's funny.... i think sometimes we take things to the extreme and feel like we have to have exact Can Do and Can Not Do lists... i think that ordering is something small, and if you feel bad about doing it on sunday, don't do it- if you don't, then fine... we need to look at the overall picture of what sunday is for.....
-
ya thats basically how it is with YW.... it can be really fun, its kinda depends on your Young WOmen leaders too though- if you have a good attitude with it though, you'll learn a lot!
-
um i'm think the prophet said sumthing about if you're not old enough to go to stake dances, you shouldn't go to school ones either- i'm not sure tho.... anyways, if it even is a dance you're talking about i'll tell you this- they're overated! lol but then again, so is dating so don't rush it k?? haha
-

From what i've heard, they're only big in Arizona as of now.... they're way good tho, they'll probably start popping up in more places soon other than that tho.....
