  1. I have asked many LDS this question in the past for clarification of LDS beliefs, it appears the LDS community, doesn't want the general population to know this. Regarding Eternal progression. Does the LDS church believe, after meeting --Requirements of Exaltation, you can become a God? So, far it has been denied every time. I even asked a BYU professer, ( representative for fairlds.org) After about 8-10 emails, he finally admitted they do, but, it does depend on how the question is presented, the mood. This was after I brought to his attention Blessing of Exaltation, chap 47, number two, which says "They will become gods." Why can't the LDS present what they believe when asked, instead of deception? If I get pulled over and the police asks me a question (do you have a gun in the car?) and I decide to lie because it wasn't asked properly or his heart wasn't in the right place, will I still go to jail for not being truthful when he finds it? The answer is yes. Just curious why a person can be less than truthful and how it doesn't compromise that person's character. It does say in Requirements of Exaltation the following: Please look at what I have left in bold. The time to fulfill the requirements for exaltation is now (see Alma 34:32–34). President Joseph Fielding Smith said, “In order to obtain the exaltation we must accept the gospel and all its covenants; and take upon us the obligations which the Lord has offered; and walk in the light and understanding of the truth; and ‘live by every word that proceedeth forth from the mouth of God’ ” (Doctrines of Salvation, 2:43). To be exalted, we first must place our faith in Jesus Christ and then endure in that faith to the end of our lives. Our faith in him must be such that we repent of our sins and obey his commandments. He commands us all to receive certain ordinances: 1. We must be baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. 2. We must receive the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. 3. We must receive the temple endowment. 4. We must be married for time and eternity. In addition to receiving the required ordinances, the Lord commands all of us to— 1. Love and worship God. 2. Love our neighbor. 3. Repent of our wrongdoings. 4. Live the law of chastity. 5. Pay honest tithes and offerings. 6. Be honest in our dealings with others and with the Lord. 7. Speak the truth always. 8. Obey the Word of Wisdom. 9. Search out our kindred dead and perform the saving ordinances of the gospel for them. 10. Keep the Sabbath day holy. 11. Attend our Church meetings as regularly as possible so we can renew our baptismal covenants by partaking of the sacrament. 12. Love our family members and strengthen them in the ways of the Lord. 13. Have family and individual prayers every day. 14. Honor our parents. Appears black and white, I look forward to hearing your answers. Thanks..
  2. As you said above, "I would argue, makes most of its money by providing rooms for rent. I would guess even the food it sells brings in more $$ than any porn movies they may make available". Why do you not mention the other two? Alcohol and gambling..So are you saying that it is ok to make money off of porn alcohol and gambling even though it is against your teachings? If your not saying that, what are you saying? You make it sound so innocent and a "no big deal" attitude. Is a little porn ok? It doesn't matter how much poop is in the brownies, you still have poop>
  3. So are you saying it is ok to make money off porn, gambling and alcohol even though it is against your teachings?
  4. Why am I here? I Talk to a lot of the Mormons here in the Salt Lake area and it is really frustrating when the only answer you can get is "I just know it's true or I have a burning in my bosom". Or another popular one is "I really don't know any of my church's history". If a person asked a question about the LDS faith here in utah, right off the bat, you are called anti or a mormon basher. These questions asked are facts or truths found on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in the doctrine. Yet, no one will stand up and answer. Daily, you hear on the radio and tv, "we are Christians" or "aren't we Christian enough" I don't go around telling the whole world Im anything, I would only tell if asked. Here, of course, it is pretty much shoved down your throat and when you ask questions, there is usually no answer or you are now a mormon basher. If the mormons what to repeatedly broadcast over the news and radio, that they are Christian, go for it. But, expect to be questioned when the LDS doctrine states differently and in the past, the LDS would not even associate with any other religion. In short, it is really nice to have conversation back and forth, and not look over and see glazed eyes. This is no different than having LDS missionaries at my house, except, I am asking questions directed at the LDS church. Ps. What religion are you?
  5. "What is lame is that you think you are Christian just because you have Christ in your name of your church. It is clear that J Smith said all other churches are apostate. How can you suddenly be Christian? See you can be a Christian without believing the fundamentals, yet, I can't be a mormon. Have you ever considered this could offend the Christian community? Oh yeah, were nothing to you. What if the Christians started calling themselves mormons, how upset would you get?" I don't understand why the statement above upsets you like this. Below is directly out of JS first vision from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints website. This is from Joseph Smith himself. I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: "they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof." Go ahead and ban me if you want, the above statement is directly taken from the LDS website. You seemed to overlook the other important question.. Have you ever considered this could offend the Christian community? Oh yeah, were nothing to you. What if the Christians started calling themselves mormons, how upset would you get?"
  6. Then why would you want to be Christian when you do not believe the main principles of Christianity? Like the trinity and saved by grace not Works. Works should be the fruit of the spirit not the root. What is lame is that you think you are Christian just because you have Christ in your name of your church. It is clear that J Smith said all other churches are apostate. How can you suddenly be Christian? See you can be a Christian without believing the fundamentals, yet, I can't be a mormon. Have you ever considered this could offend the Christian community? Oh yeah, were nothing to you. What if the Christians started calling themselves mormons, how upset would you get?
  7. So are you saying it is ok to make money off porn/alcohol and gambling even though it is against your church?
  8. It is funny you tell me to tone down my attitude. This is usually what happens when conversing with lds, I bring up a topic that is a fact and if they don't like it. They deem me "anti mormon or mormon bashing" But, you can send your missionaries to my house and they will tell me their religion is the only true religion and mine is not. So, are the Anti-Christian? I got another question concerning Christianity, If I do not believe in any of the major LDS believes can I be LDS? Yes or no..
  9. I was wrong, a Mr Marriott owns the chain, he is LDS and a member of the Seventy's (Virgina area) leadership. He also made 190 million last year from the chain. His tithing to the church would of been 19.5 million last year. Can the church accept that money knowing a majority came form alcohol, porn and gambling or do they look the other way?
  10. The LDS church owns The Marriot chain. Do your research..
  11. The LDS church owns a chain of Hotels. Either way you say it, you can't justify it.
  12. In the last 6 years, I have asked some questions of the LDS Faith and people just seem to look the other. 1. After finding out that the LDS church owns the Marriot chain, a thought crossed my mind. The LDS church does not allow their members to use alcohol, watch rated R movies/porn, or gamble, yet, the church supplies this to all the other people who are not LDS. How can a person/organization supply this filth and call themselves a member of the Church and live with them self. You can't go down to the local Baptist church and find them selling all this filth out of their back door. This is the point where no one will reply. I want to hear how the LDS justify this. Thanks
