For those that do not know Dr. Hall is credited with the invention of the synthetic diamond. I was a school chum of his only son – Tracy Jr. Dr Hall is also the first scientist to calculate the charge of an electron as a grad student but his professor (Robert Millikan) took all the credit. Kind of a trend through history – Newton was especially good at stilling credit.
