Can't remember the story

I have heard this little story many times but can never remember exactly how it goes

The jist of it is Moses spends a day with The Lord and observes how He deals with us

Part of the story has to do with a flash flood that breaks down the widow's stone wall

where she then finds money to handle her needs Another part tells of a desert traveler The Lord strikes down just as he reaches an oasis Moses not knowing the whole story asks why and The Lord explains his reasons each making perfect sense when you can see the big picture

Anyone have a lead for me?????
