Larry Barkdull has been a friend to DailyWOW for many years and has even had input from some of you for his previous books. He has a new book out on the shelves that you may want to take a look at. Here is some information about the book in Larry’s words:

It is called Priesthood Power: Blessing the Sick and the Afflicted. This book answers many questions pertaining to this sacred ordinance. For example, what does the oil represent? How is it that we can anoint and seal without being called as a temple worker? Why are two or more elders typically required? How do we become the hands, arms, and voice of Jesus Christ? How should we prepare to bless? I hope this books helps elders gain more appreciation for their priesthood and more faith in the administration ordinance.

When I presented this idea to my publisher, Covenant Communications, they were enthused. They had many requests for this material, but there was nothing available in book format. As far as we know, this book stands alone. They have created a small, beautiful hardback book with which I am very pleased. Its price is only $11.95. They also created an audio tape of the book. In the spring, they are planning to release the book with an oil vial in a gift package.

Subject: Priesthood Power released

Dear friends and family,

I wanted to let you know that my new book has just been released. This book began as a special priesthood lesson that my bishop and High Priests group leader asked me to prepare. I had been researching talks and scriptures for a very long time because, as you know, our family has its share of medical challenges. We rely on priesthood blessings. When I received the assignment, I dissected the administration ordinance and in the process gained an incredible appreciation for the priesthood.

Please feel no obligation, but I wanted to let you know. As I've looked around, I think Seagull Book has the best sale price.

Blessing to you all!

Well, so far it must be pretty popular. I went over to our local LDS bookstore across the road from the Temple and they had sold out, so I asked them to get me a copy. It looks like a good book and something necessary for priesthood holders. I know that many elders and high priests are hesitant about offering to perform ordinances such as administering to the sick, and I have a sneaking hunch that much of this is due to a lack of information.

So...Thanks, Brother Barkdull.

Agreed...strange it is, cannot be located at my local store either.

However, I wrote a testimony about healing the accident teen. It is rewarding to know that the Spirit leads us in the right direction and will tell us what to say. :)
