SavedByHisGrace Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 Okay--the other night I was at a prayer meeting with one of my friends, and we had all been sitting around praying taking turns praying. At one point, I found myself praying silently for a difficult situation in my life--I had been thrown out of my house for something my brother did (he stole $100 out of my dad's wallet so he could go buy drugs and he didn't fess up to it so we are both being punished). Also, my fiancee was giving me some trouble, making me feel like I didn't matter to him. As I was praying, I felt kind of a warm chill come over me, as if the Lord was touching me gently to let me know he was hearing my prayer. A little later on, the group leader stopped everything and said, "I want to take a moment to pray for a certain group member here." Then he turned to me, which surprised me because I had never met the guy before in my life. He asked me my name and I told him. Then he said to me, "I want you to know that a little while ago I looked up and saw the Lord putting his arms around you, as if comforting you. I get a feeling that lately you've had a lot of rejection in your life and that you feel unwanted." Immediately I broke down crying. He didn't know me. He had no idea what I was going through. My friend didn't tell him anything. And yet he knew. Anyway, as I was crying, some of the girls came and put their arms around me and prayed over me, and then he prayed for me too when they were all done. In other words...HOW COOL IS THIS?!?!? Quote
FunkyTown Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 That is an amazing story, Sazzy. I'm glad you felt comforted and sorry that things have been rough for you. PS: Beat up your fiancee and say "Make sure I know I matter!". If there's one thing I've learned in this life, it's that I laugh when a guy gets beat up by a girl and... Wait, wait... That's a bad lesson, isn't it? No! No, if there's one thing I've learned in my life it's that you have to make known your needs. And that it's funny when a guy gets beaten up by a girl and - D'OH! I'll start over. Quote

Don't worry, I gave him a good talking-to. I don't think he's ever heard me be so stern, so I'm sure I got the message across! Quote

Ever since I've known you, you were this 'Take no prisoners, beat up your fiancee to make sure he knew you mattered' type person. Now, this.I think I can forgive you. But only because of the vast history we have together. Quote
SavedByHisGrace Posted December 5, 2008 Author Report Posted December 5, 2008 Um...FunkyTown? I just met you. Quote
FunkyTown Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 Um...FunkyTown? I just met you.For a Mayfly, the amount of time we've known each other would be years already. It'd be like... 4 years, since they only live 24 hours. 4 years is enough time to get a -university- degree. Quote

SavedByHisGrace Posted December 5, 2008 Author Report Posted December 5, 2008 Okie dokie funkytown. Guys, I guess we're on mayfly time today. Quote
MarginOfError Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 If we're on mayfly time do we have to act like mayflies? I'm not sure that'd be entirely appropriate for this site. Quote
