It's been pretty bad here. California is a pretty dry state. Every year, all year round it is dry. But about every th year it would rain to make up for all the dry years. That is what this year is. This is the wet season.

If you've been watching the news you might be hearing about all kinds of flooding and mud slides and stuff in California. There's also something else which no one every mentions. The area from Los Angeles to around Orange County and all around those general areas, the altitude is pretty low. Without any modern technology, during California's rainy season, this area would become flooded. So flooded that the water level would rise about 6 feet, all the way from Orange County to Los Angeles. (although it could be 10 feet, I'm not sure).

However, in order to prevent this, dams were built in the rivers that overflowed and would cause the flooding. There are 3 dams. What no one mentions is that if two of them should fail in any way to hold back their water and burst, then flooding of the afformentioned counties would occur.

Now there's a reason I'm telling this. 15 miles East of the city I live in (Yorba Linda, CA) there's a city called Corona, and a more larger city 15 miles to the East of Corona. In Corona is one of the dams that is used to prevent the flooding. The dam, named Prado dam, overflowed about a week ago due to all the water. It wasn't very bad, but a few people near the dam had to be evacuated. Mainly high priced homes. The only other thing at the base of Prado dam is a country club and golf course. That got flooded really badly. The overflowing soon stopped after the rain stopped.

But just recently, during the 10 days of rain, a leak was discovered in the dam. The leak hasn't been fixed yet and has pretty much flooded most of the country club. The only things left in the country club from what I've seen on the news, is the building and some green hills where some of the golf course is higher than the water. Just past this golf course is a residential neighborhood and last week it was evacuated.

Now Corona isn't too big of a city. The bigger cities are east of it with Riverside and west of it with Anaheim which is directly south of where I live. I don't know if there are any big shopping areas in Riverside but there is 2 pretty big ones near the freeway in Anaheim. When I was leaving the bank today, I saw a big RV driving around with a Michigan license plate and just figured it was someone visiting Anaheim to go to Disneyland.

The plaza is shaped like an "L." So when I went to the other side of the shopping plaza I saw like an entire city of RV's, most likely the people that got evacuated. Pretty strange.
