Snow Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris is a hilarious collection of vignettes and essays mostly covering the author’s childhood and adult life. The bits range from knee-slapping funny to poignant to sad to a tad bitter. It was a number 1 bestseller on the NY Times Bestseller List for Nonfiction.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_SedarisIts the funniest thing I have read is quite a long time. There are lots of really funny authors. How many of them are funny enough to sell out a reading of their book at Carnegie Hall is another matter.Sedaris is also a humorist/commentator on NPR (National Public Radio) and delivers his material with a wry, dead-on sense of humor. You can check out his stuff at: http://www.npr.org/programs/specials/lists/sedaris/. If your local library has books of tape, you may want to check his book on tape out. Quote
Maureen Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 Thanks Snow, I'm going to check this one out. I think I'm also going to look for The Sex of French Nouns. M. Quote
