There is no “good, better, best” in Hebrew, so instead of saying “holy” or “very holy” or “most holy,” the word “holy” is repeated three times—three is the superlative, the ultimate. You’ll also notice the Book of Mormon uses the word “wo” sometimes one, two, and even three times in a row. Three “woes” is the ultimate in “wo” (see 2 Nephi 9:27; Mosiah 3:12; 2 Nephi 28:15).
