Most all your posts about the church come this way.. masked... as ligitamate... but nothing more than a way to SLAP the church as you have sapped me here...

Really - I am quite curious to see these posts of mine that show me slapping your church. Can you provide some examples? :)

Please,

I enjoy reading your post and I would hate to see you leave!

Snow.

Please & Snow,

I have learned a great deal from both of you. I do not agree with either of you all the time, but I respect your right to express your opinion on a topic.

Sometimes a poster is not willing to accept the fact that we all have our own ideas, beliefs, and opinions on a host of different topics ... that are not in agreement with our own position ... no matter how long or hard we work to try and persuade them otherwise.

When this happens ... we usually see a degeneration of the quality of the post until ultimately one or all posters are attacking one another with personal digs or other hurtful sarcastic comments.

About three months ago the table was turned and Jenda was referring to Snow's post as "pithy one liners" remember?

I think that what we need to remember here is the fact that we are all unique individuals. Most of us have very fragile egos that can get in the way of our understanding unless we make a conscience effort to keep it in check.

Remember when Heather was trying to persuade posters to the importance of how the message is delivered ? She told us that if the

message is presented to others in a sarcastic tone or hurtful manner ...

then what good is it? Even if it is the truth. You will turn off the recipient before they have a chance to truly appreciate your wisdom. Even the readers that agree with your position may find that they have been left with a bad taste in their mouth after reading such back-biting and belittling.

As far as size or number of post goes ... I think it is irrelevant.

I have not heard Heather complain about wasted bandwidths. I can see where long and repetitious quotes could be edited ... as being beneficial however.

I don't feel that short comments of agreement with a previous poster is spamming or a waste of bandwidth. I think that it is nice when the poster receives such agreement. It gives the poster a positive affirmation of their thoughts. I would hate to think that the policy was only to allow original witty or deep intellectual comments about another's post. I think that most of us come here to learn and have some fun in the process...wasted bandwidth taken to the extreme ...(as an example) : would not allow posters to acknowledge even birthdays because the argument would be that they can just look on the calendar ... they don't need to waste bandwidth acknowledging it.

No one asked Please to leave. She is making that up. I only asked her to stop making huge quotes just to add one line replies that were either sarcastic insults or zippy affirmations. She (and a couple other posters) can make those comments without the long quotes that make it laborious to read through the whole thread.

I chose to re-post through quote your whole post because it was of such sound wisdom. I hope everyone here reads it again and again... and maybe learns something from it...

If this poll only generated this post it would have been worth it to me... but I say again... thank you all who have participated. I especially want to thank Johndoe who wrote some nice stuff even after all the tussels we have had. It showed a maturity many of us could learn from.

I just want to also thank those who have been and are my friends here... it is so great to have such nice people to spend time with...
