Tazzerina Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 I was just wondering how long you have to be a member before you can put your name on the list for a patriarchal blessing or if there is a requirement? Thanks :) Quote
sleepless3977 Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 you need to have an interview with the Bishop prior to to a patriarchal blessing. I'm not sure if there is a time limit on how long after baptism to getting this. Again best to ask the Bishop this one Quote
rameumptom Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 The bishop determine's a person's worthiness and readiness for a patriarchal blessing. Talk with your bishop in order to see if they have a minimal time period in your ward for getting one. Quote
tubaloth Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 I don't know if there is a set time. I know that it was on the new member check list of things to do in the first year after joining (if you were the right age). Like others have said. its something that between you and the bishop talk about. Quote
Tazzerina Posted January 2, 2010 Author Report Posted January 2, 2010 I'll definitely go talk to my bishop, I just wasn't sure if there was a more definite timeline like for temple recommends etc. Thanks for the responses! Quote
mesmith Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 I was baptized last September, 13th. I spoke with my bishop before Christmas and he told me he would like me to wait until I had been a member for 6 months so that I would have a better understanding of the Church and be able to better appreciate the blessing. dazed-and-confused Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 i believe that i waited about 6 or 9 months also, for mine. Quote
eternalpromise516 Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 tazzerina, i'm also a new member and preparing for my Patriarchal Blessing. i'm going to wait a couple more weeks until i request my interview, but i've been a member for going to be 7 months on January 20th. if i talk to my bishop soon, i'll post back with what i find out :) Quote
