Guest Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Good point. But, I'm not all that strong a member. Obviously. Then the problem is not the dress code. It is much deeper than that. So the discussion of comfortable clothes at sacrament, or what you would want to wear when God comes for dinner is a non-issue.There are 2 things you can try: 1.) Go to church in pants and set your heart to the reason you are going - for God - not necessarily to have your clothes admired. Regular attendance at sacrament meetings may be enough to get your deeper spiritual challenges resolved.2.) Go to church in a dress and practice the simple act of sacrifice to show the "generally accepted" expression of respect through a dress code and offer this sacrifice to God. That may also be aneough to get your deeper spiritual challenges resolved.Regardless of what you do, your choice will reflect whether you are really serious about following Him or not. Quote
CTRMann Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Well, I am not a sister. I would imagine if it were said then it would be a General RS Conference or something. Regardless to say though. When everyone in the Ward rose their hand to sustain the Bishop and he says dresses then its dresses, right? I might go talk with the Stake President if you have issues with how much fabric is required to wear around your legs though. Quote
WillowTheWhisp Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Didn't President Uchtdorf say something along the lines of he would rather have someone come to church in jeans than not have them come? Quote
