Bini Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 I just got hubby an iPhone 3GS and I've probably played with it more than he has since I bought it.. Needless to say, I've been so intrigued with this trendy little gadget that I've decided to get one myself. So any tips on how to get the most out of the iPhone experience are appreciated :] • What covers and cases work best to protect? • What applications are worth installing? • What applications are best to stay away from? Free apps are nice but we don't mind paying for useful apps that will come in handy with daily tasks. Hubby is looking for a user-friendly business planner app and I'm interested in something like a grocery list app. We've noticed there's several options available but maybe one happens to be better than another? Also, has anyone used any of the (pay) unlimited txting apps within their family? Definitely worth it? Quote
declanr Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Seido has an incase cover that is awesome Applications are dependent on your interests, I like the news (USA today is good), and weather chanel app. Stay away from apps with low ratings, read review before buying or downloading free apps. AFter a few years of using the iphone I switched to the Google phone (nexus one), it has almost twice the screen resolution and processing power, also it has mostly the same apps and I can run it on Tmobile at half the monthly cost!! It is coming for verizon soon.... Quote

But like I said, specifically, he's looking for some kind of business planner app and I'm looking for something that can make grocery shopping more convenient.I've never heard of the Google Phone (aka Nexus One). I have been a T-Mobile user previously but not in a long time. I won't touch Verizon with a ten-foot poll as a result of terrible customer service among other things. Quote
joel99 Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Wait until this summer to get an iPhone as they should have a new version out in June/July. Quote
Wingnut Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 The Church has released an new official Gospel Library iPhone app this week: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/gospel-lbry/id365223775?mt=8 Quote
Bini Posted April 17, 2010 Author Report Posted April 17, 2010 I'll let them workout the bugs with the newest iPhone to be released. Once they do that, it'll be exciting to use multiple apps at the same time and try out the video conference feature (not that I'll ever use it). Thanks, Wingnut, for the rec. I'm also wondering if anyone knows how to install a new skin "manually"? Quote
