Aristotle Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Has anyone written their own personal history/life story? If so, I'm looking for ideas...what to include and omit, etc. I mentioned to my daughter recently my plans to start writing mine. She said, "Mom, how many volumes do you think you'll need?" Laureltree Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 I have been writing since I was in my teens, however as I got older I found it more important to focus on the positive in my life so my children could grow from it. My 2 cents Quote
Aristotle Posted January 13, 2006 Author Report Posted January 13, 2006 In the past, I wrote in my journal religiously, never missing a day. The result was ending up with volumes and volumes of journals (now stored in boxes and more boxes). Several times, I read from different volumes...sort of a "blast from the past"...and what I noticed was that year after year I wrote about the same old thing. LOL I'm working on a pictorial journal now, which won't be so boring, hopefully. BTW, I loved the ideas from the sites Winnie recommended. Quote

Palerider Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 I have kept a journal since right after I graduated from high school......whats neat about going back and being able to read past entries is for instance.......I always wrote in there about having no desire to serve a 2 year mission. While reading in my journal you can see how I started changing and wanting to serve....its awesome!!!!!!!! Quote

What I learned years later, is that you can't change other people...you can only change your reaction to them. Quote
