In the context of the thread topic, it's a bit difficult to imagine how it will play itself out. They are considering it because they've had so many men killed in war.

It will be interesting to see if their people take advantage of it if the law is passed.

You missed the main point, shanstress.

"HOW" is someone supposed to know what is right and wrong?

And please don't say something dumb like saying: "Duh, they should just know"

I don't know what point YOU'RE trying to make Ray, but I'm not missing anything. The point I'M trying to make is that it is wrong... period... regardless of where you live or what your society is like.

Now, maybe you'd like to share with me the point that YOU'RE trying to make.

Okay, I think I got you now. Wrong is wrong no matter where you live or what your society is like, or in other words, no matter what the other people around you have to think about what is wrong.

Now, if we could all just figure out what is wrong, and what is right, we would all be set. Right?

And btw, my question to you was a question, asking you "how" [you think] other people should know what is wrong, and what is right, instead of just trying to leave it as "wrong is wrong and right is right", which in itself doesn't help anyone figure out what is wrong and right.

Well, I've always been a firm believer in the Golden Rule. :)

While that sounds like a good place to start, there will always be some "Smart Alecs" with the idea that because they don't want other people to stop them from doing something they want to do, they should not stop other people from doing what they want to do either.
