applepansy Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 CtR, I think you're doing the right thing. Bishops and Stake Presidents have experience or can contact someone with experience in these things. They will watch for retribution. Don't fear. You are doing the right thing and the Lord will bless you for it. Quote
georgia2 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 When a person is called in and asked if there has been major transgression, they are held accountable as if speaking to the Lord. No one can make someone tell the truth. If there are witnesses, they're testimoney will be taken into consideration. THen they pray about it. Usually if there are not witnesses and the person lies, the council doesn;t come out and say they are lying. The purpose of the church and council is to have integrity and tell the truth. If that doesn;t happen, then as someone else says, THEY WILL answer to the one who really knows the truth. Better to tell the truth now and deal with repentance than to try to get away with "murder" then only to have the final witness who saw it all be the one who deals out the punishment. If you trestify, you are actualy doing the guy a favor becasue then the right ourcome will happen and he can repent and become clean again. Quote
