What I think is funny is how many times you say "hi" when you first talk:

"hello?"

"hey this is ___"

"Oh! Hi! How are you doing?"

"hey, I'm doing great...."

I hate phones, I don't think I'd last long in call center work.

I actually quit a job in college after before the training sessions ended with the alumni fund raising because I realized it was telemarketing, and I hate telemarketers to begin with. I love the Do Not Call registry, and I have made complaints with the FCC after telemarketers called once after I told them I was on the registry. For me, they get a warning that the number is on that list, so if they call again, it is an automatic complaint.

In personal calls it's usually "bye", but with my southern belle friend, it's "kisses!"

At work, it depends. If it's a quick call (to a coworker) to get a simple bit of info, I'll end with "Thanks," or if it's my boss, "Wow! Pretty smart, for a jock!" *click*
