I spent part of my afternoon with a Lutheran Padre.

I have never felt so comfortable with this minister those of other faiths have others turned me off do to their behavior or just a bed aura.

Padre Bush (of all things) was so interesting; we spoke of faith and a one on one relationship to our father in heaven.

We chatted a lot over his extensive collection of books, antique books as well. The letters for Martin Luther really caught my eye. That is what started this long visit after we got work out of the way.

We talked about Martin Luther and the dark ages and the apostasy we talk about the Book of Mormon and were it came from. I asked, he answered and He asked, and I answered. What an afternoon!

It was refreshing to find a minister who found this whole experience on earth a journey as interesting as I do. We connected over history and how people pull away from the gospel of Christ because of history and the founders of their faiths.

He felt Martin Luther’s history does damage to his church because people can’t separate the man from the Church now.

He understood the same things happen to the LDS Church over people not being able to separate church history from the church now.

I am sure we will have more open dialogue in the months to come. :D

Come on Winnie, admit it--you're doing this on purpose, aren't you?

No I’m not. its goats me to know end when I meet ministers that see the opportunity to save me when they meet me.

Some are very full of them self’s or others just dismiss me and show no ethics concerning this behavior.

Padres in the past have said right to my face when dealing with my family such as our sons kidnapping, “Oh you don’t need me you have your own faith”.

What’s wrong with that is a Padre does more then helps in times of emergency they are of real benefit to the spiritual heath of the community.

Times of an emergency are a grate opportunity to teach their members compassionate service as an example.

But in the case of my son he never came by to see if in his capacity he could intervene on our behalf with the army.

He just fell in to the back grown and the base social worker who has less pull then a Padre helped out.

This is not just Padre’s but I find strange to rude behavior in a lot of ministers I have worked with or ran across though the years.

Before I joined the church, my families priest refused to come see me until I signed the adoption papers to give my son up my family was shoving down my throat.

That’s when a Mormon friend asked his bishop to see me; he came and spent the whole day with me.

Haven’t you met one of those holy rollers that just want to whack you in the forehead and say, “Saved thank you Jesus”!

OHHHH how creepy!

No, can't say that I have. But then, I probably don't share the same social circles as you.

I have three Evangelical ministers in my family. One Rabbi and a Old German Baptist (there like Quakers) I have a mother who is in to Spiritualism ESP and any thing that goes bump in the night, theirs a hand full of them who go from one extreme to another.

Lets just say we are a mix bag of nuts. We have grate family reunions.

But all of the above would like to see me saved in one form or another.

No I say we don’t have the same social circles. ;)
