pam Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 We must love one another and serve one another. This is the essence of discipleship in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The office of the Bishop carries a certain mandate to care for the members of his ward. The Relief Society has always been at the heart of welfare. The men and women of the Church participate jointly by bringing relief to those in need. Inspired home teachers bless lives. They lend their strengths and talents. Relief Society Presidents visit homes to access the needs for the Bishop. They are also the first response in times of need. They provide meals, provide compassionate service. We can all contribute to the Lord’s storehouse when we pay our fast offerings. When families do everything they can to provide for their families and still can’t meet basic needs, the Church can assist. They help families become self reliant. Quote
