How do members of the Church keep holy the Sabbath? I remember, as a Catholic, that keeping Sunday holy just meant going to mass. At least, as a little kid, it seemed that way anyways.

Just curious, as I'm working so much between my actual job and school, I think I could usea a mandatory "down" day.

You got it. Sunday is a mandatory rest day from earthly pursuits. We reserve Sunday for rest and for worship and for scripture study and for anything else that has to do with eternal progression.

Sometimes you do not have a choice. If you are doing shift work for example or work for an employer who is open 24x7 you may have to adjust. That doesn't mean you are in jeopardy or your membership is in question. Just remember that sometimes such "exceptions" can be habit forming. Go to work and do your best but remember whose day it is and why it is set aside.

Such as myself for example. I work at a hotel, and as such, I work sundays quite often. The good part is I usually work the night shift which gives me plenty of time to go to meetings on sunday, do some personal study at home, then get some sleep before work. Some weeks keeping the sabbath day holy is the only way I can get through the stress of the coming days.

It's a day set aside for worshipping the Lord, for the average member that generally entails going to church, not doing our work (but doing the Lord's), performing church duties, sometimes fasting, things like that.
