lds wedding

If you are married in the Temple, only Temple worthy mambers are allowed to be a part of your Temple wedding. Often, there is a reception with a ring exchange ceremony sometime after the wedding which non member family and friends can attend.

Another option is a civil ceremony wedding and reception where all can attend and a year after you can have your marriage sealed in the Temple.

Temple sealing ceremonies are not like any weddings that you may have been to. They are intimite and they are typically limited to immediate family on both sides who have temple recommends.

Rings are not exchanged during the temple sealing ordinance. This is why most couples will have a reception and a ring ceremony after the sealing in the temple. This is where you can have a maid of honor, best man and other "traditional" aspects of a wedding.

There are several ways. When you need to do something for the wedding, ie make decorations, shop for dresses, shop for flowers, include all your bridesmaids and maid of honor. When someone throws you a bridal shower (if it's not your bridesmaids) invite them all. On the big day if you are getting married in the temple, see if the wedding party can all be at the temple for pictures after the ceremony. Mormons are big on receiving lines (at least they were 30 years ago), so your whole wedding party will be part of that and depending on how many guests you have, that will take up time during the reception. And depending on how you plan your ring ceremony (I'm assuming you are having one ;)) you can use your imagination to see how to include your wedding party in that too.

Good luck and have fun planning.

M.
