This leads me to think that Satan required Eve to eat the fruit as well in order to bring about his plan.

I don't think after he was cast out that he kept his "plan". That, war in heaven plan, was rejected and void by him being cast out. At that point, I think Satan just set out to bring about as much misery to everyone as possible but still driven by selfish thoughts. His selfish nature hasn't changed and so most of his temptations are the same arguments of selfishness and immediate gratification. I think he still believes that he has some kind of power in and of himself, that he will reap some kind of reward for his efforts, but he won't. The goal is still selfishness and the answer to that is still 'not gonna happen'. Selfishness does not result in any long lasting reward, in that sense Satan does not know "the mind of God".

If he believes that rewards come from self centered drives, he probably thought that if he could get Eve to culture that idea then he would bring about some kind of "salvation" and credit for that push in that direction. Ultimately though Eve and Adams drive is to think about the good of the plan and all those that will come to this Earth and not their own knowledge of good and evil. It is all in the intentions and the desires of the heart. Satan's desire has never changed, has nothing to do with helping anybody but himself.

Yes, there are some things that the "innocent" just don't / can't understand. This is why God said that "man" had become as "us" after Adam ate the fruit. Before he ate the fruit, he didn't even realize his nakedness before God or his wife.

In any case, Alma 12 and 42 are pretty awesome.

hey guys, me and my mother were having a discussion a few minutes ago about this. I felt this was the best place to ask...

I mean I know why he rebelled (him wanting to be the redeemer of mankind) but knowing that he will not have a body, and will be in hell why doesnt he repent? Will God ever forgive him? It says he is thrown in the lake of fire but after a 1,000 years released and then again condemed to the bottomless pit? what is the point of freeing him?

My main question is this: According to our scriptures he wanted to be the redeemer of mankind in exchange to become like God. If he would just follow the plan of salvation that would be his inheritence? Its like he had perfect access to his only want and didnt do it. Confusing.

On the other hand we know he had to fall so we could have opposition to choose righteousness....

So he rebelled against God's plan thus becoming part of God's plan?

My opinion: It is a solid punishment from Lucifers father, who is God. His father seeth fit to punish him that long =P Its nothing to Eternity.

I do not believe he wants forgiveness.

Luke 17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass

against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

Luke 17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day,

and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent;

thou shalt forgive him.

Does this fit Lucifer's profile?:cool:
