Look I dont want you to misunderstand what I am about to say so I am telling you now I do not mean to offend.

You are young only 16 and have alot of things ahead of you. the chances of this girl being the one day woman you will marry are really low more then you can imagine. not to say it cant happen just really slim. I know in that teenage frenzy that all of us have gone through and your having to go through now it seems like your being singled out or cut out because you dont measure up. well its just not true! I have a daughter and she wont one on one date till shes 18 thats that I dont care who it is that asks her period end of discussions. dosnt have anything to do with the boy at all. As parents we set rules for our children the church has standards that me and my family follow. they are good standards that help young men and young women your age stay chaste. I dont care how strong you think you are things will happen and the overconfidence of youth will mess up your life and hers too.

Honestly I think you should show more respect to her parents and to her, focus on learning more of the church and why those rules are so important to us and you will find a peace there. If you and this young lady are ment to be then it will happen but not today or not even the next 2 or 3 years so dont get so wound up, relax and if i might say Prey.

I have to ask myself what it is that a 16 year old boy with raging hormones wants to do with my daughter in private that he can't do with others in a group.

My oldest will be 16 this winter and I am trying to decide which weapon I will be cleaning in the front room when her first date shows up. Will it be the 12 gauge shotgun or the 44 magnum with the 8 inch barrel? I am also practicing my 'total intimidation' face. I have been told I am getting pretty good with that one.

A farmer had three daughters. All of which had a date on one particular evening. So the doorbell rings and the farmer picks up his shot gun and opens the door. The young man standing there says: "Hi, my name's Joe, I've come to get Flo, we're going to the show. Is she ready to go?" So the farmer calles Flo down and she leaves with her date.

A few minutes later, the doorbell rings again, and again, the farmer grabs his shot gun and opens the door. The young man standing at the door says: "Hi, my name's Eddy, I've come to get Betty, we're going to go get some spaghetti. Is she ready?" So the farmer called Betty down and likewise, she leaves with her date.

In a few more minutes the doorbell rings again, so again the farmer grabs his shotgun and opens the door. The young man standing at the door says: "Hi, my name's Rex....." BOOM!!!

But dude, seriously, the Church does have these standards and they are good. Perhaps when you have daughters of your own, you will realize this. When a young woman and a young man get together alone, sometimes things just happen. And perhaps you are strong enough to resist the temptation but some people are not. And all it takes is one theif and you have lock everyone out. Or in other words, all it takes is one person with low moral standards, and rules have to be set.

It might seem like this girl's parents are taking their religion too seriously, but in reality, if you understood it the way they do, you would take it very seriously as well. To them, it is the difference between eternal life and eternal death. So don't let this incident affect you in any way. If you do, it will only lead to greater disappointment later on in life.

If you really think about it, what better way to lower the rates of illigitimate children, or STDs than to teach the young people not to fool around; or even get themselves into a situation that could possibly lead to fooling around.
